Why add fabric window treatments to a bathroom

As you will see in the before picture, this beautiful bathroom lacked warmth. By updating the seat cushion and adding a fabric swag to the window the room took on a whole new look. It is now warm and comfortable. A true retreat for this homeowner

I don't understand the basketweave pattern above and below the mirror. Is it wallpaper? Tile? Doesn't seem to compliment the other, more delicate wallpaper. It's also at odds with the granite.

It is a glass, metal and marble mix. Maybe the picture doesn't do it justice but it frames the mirror nicely. Thank you so much for the comment!

I prefer it without the swag

Thanks for explaining the tile. Wonder why you didn't take it all the way down to the counter tops rather than add it on top of the another backsplash. I wish I could see a better picture of it--maybe it would look better?

We did that to add consistency with the tub deck. I'll try to get a better picture later today.
