if you want to go ultra modern, go with a pure white leather sofa sectional, otherwise stick to taupe or brown. You will still get a modern look but a bit more subtle. Check out some online retailers to give you some ideas. http://www.gomodernusa.com is a good resource.

Do you think dark grey fabric sofa will look good too.?

Below is what we were thinking to do:

8 white chairs with chrome legs for dinning table with dark solid colour rug.
dark grey fabric sofa and love seat with off-white rug.
One accent chair close to left side window.
TV above fireplace.

We haven't decided on curtain colours but might put again offwhite curtains with chrome rods.

Though all these are initial ideas and we will appreciate if you experts can guide us.

I like what you plan to do with fabric and color. The one thing you have got to do is buy a can of fireproof spray paint in matte black and spray the brass (looks like brass) on the fireplace. It will transform it for just a few dollars, I did same to mine) sometimes the upper part is magnetic and pulls off.

Looking at room again the dark grey might be too heavy for the room so white or neutral is better. At the table acrylic chairs could be cool and then fabric chairs on ends (with a design in fabric)

Thanks a lot for valuable inputs, I am going to buy spray can for fireplace and we love this idea.

I guess as per advice we are inclining more towards white sectional.

I really love your place. What paint color did u use?

Its from the Ben Moore Aura collection. Two different colors; I will have to pull my file and tell you exact name. It has been two years since I painted so I can't remember.

For the dining chairs - use mid century white chairs, I enclose a link as well as an image from an interior i am working on at the moment. they go very well with wooden tables.

The space looks a bit dark, so keep the furniture light, and classic.

For a final touch can suggest the Buenos Aires Floor Lamp and Ceiling Lamp we have. they are classic and yet modern.

Yellow also goes great with grey. If not in furniture, then may be on the wall... Like, artwork or a wall hanging.

I love Iris Design Studio's ideas & photos - the turquoise accents look great - yellow would work also. I love your table and the architectural details in the room & floors.

This is the new sectional.
In store it look big and yes we did measurements too but now it's looking tad small to us.

Maybe with time and with additional decoration it will look great!!.
