I think I would put both towers on the right side of the TV. Slide the entire TV & towers to the right. Then take three of the pictures put them on the left of the TV all at the same height. They would look nice at the same height as the top of the towers.

i would move the book cases, and only use two of the paintings, will the baskets fit in the book case? might be nice to break that up a bit. Can you take a pic of the whole space please..?

I agree with flair lighting. This would be a great start. Also consider Mounting the television and using a lower media cabinet with the same espresso finish. Put two side by side

I would move the four pictures to another room. Try another color other than brown. Add a few pictures with red or blue, orange. Buy some throw pillow with the color of the new pictures. Add crown molding and a valance. Maybe new lamp with that color.

I like the pictures but think you need something more vibrant to excite the eye. Here are a couple of ideas. I've ordered several prints from allposters.com, and been happy with the quality.

Your room is basic enough that you could incorporate just about any color that you like in it. I agree about the need for some plants, and I would put them in colorful ceramic pots to liven the room up. Go for colors that you love--that's the key to being happy with your house--it needs to reflect YOUR personality.

I would take down the tall shelves, turn them on their side and stack them on top of each other. Put them next to the other cube. Center the whole system on the wall and then center the TV. You may have to move your pictures in a little so they don't sit outside the length of the bookshelves. Spread your baskets out randomly and fill the empty spaces with books or decor.

If I keep the consoles the same and add the plant and one big picture on the left..Would you keep the lamp or replace it with a corner lamp, or different lamp shade?

I would try to do what Wendy Hamilton suggested .What you have now looks skimpy but making it longer would full up the wall and be more proportionate with large sectional

If I stack the two towers on top of each other and lay long way they are now taller than the middle piece.. Is there any other options for rearranging them? Or would they look okay if I just had different decor?

Did you know Benjamin Moore has a site that you can download pic to and will suggest color schemes after you answer a couple of questions ? It's great then it will give you the paint color names & numbers . Hope this help ...

Get out your phone or camera and take a walk. Take tons of photos. Enlarge and frame your favorites.

To answer your posted question, what color scheme depends on YOU and what colors suit you and your family! People react to colors in different ways. My suggestion is go to a paint store, grab some samples (paint chips first, then small sample cans) and try some of them out. See what strikes your fancy, and see these colors throughout different times of the day, as the hue will change as the sun's position changes. Once you have found your favorites, you'll then need to decide where to apply them. If you are comfortable with painting the whole room one color, but like several others, chose one for the wall, and plan to use the others as accents. IF you already have a favorite piece, whether it be a piece of art, a vase, anything...find a place for it, and use that as your "jumping off point" for everything else. It will all fall into place. Hello, I think you should paint the towers either white or cream, I suspect you are a cream and brown person, then paint the baskets orange and buy a rug or maybe a piece of glass or pottery in the same shade as the baskets, not too many items just enough to give a subtle hint of colour and modernise the room.

First, lights! Second, what color is your favorite? From there you can build something that you love.

You have nice neutral background that just needs some accent colors. Find colors you love for art and pillows. You can repaint those canvases, even if it s just solid blocks of your chosen colors and grouping them in an interesting pattern.
If you stack the towers on their side you could put them under that half wall. Tucked into the corner you could use it to support a large plant or big piece of pottery with dried branches. Or could the tv be angled in the corner?
The tv does need large pieces of art on either side to balance it but it could be anything that strikes your fancy not just prints or posters. Blow up a family photo or two. Cut up an old book with great color plates of famous art.
