Renovated Old Kitchen

We bought our kitchen 14 years ago for our Apartment. Two years later we built our house and the kitchen (the units) went with us. This kitchen is a ALNO - Kitchen and had a plastic covered surface. The color was cherry/yellowish.
A few years ago we saw that the plastic covers at the doors were loosening.

We didn't wanted a new kitchen because all the cabinets were in good shape. So we decided to renovate the kitchen.

We bought in a DIY store paint and a new worktop. I always wanted a kitchen island but the usual one are to big. Therefore my husband took four wall cupboards from IKEA who has the same décor like our kitchen (thanks heaven ), built a base and put the cupboard on it. On the island came the same worktop as the rest of the kitchen.
Before we painted the cabinets we needed to take of the plastic surface from the doors. Mostly we did it with a hair dryer. After that we prepared the surface for the paint.

Now we have a all new kitchen, even better looking than the old one, and it coasted not a fortune to get it done.

Cool, you must love the extra counter space the island gives you!

I think you should contact ALNO and ask them to feature you in their advertising! Bravo from Montreal!

Thank you for your comment and advise. We will see that we find a reveal that looks good. THANKS

Many customs who bought kitchens from ALNO back between 1999 and 2001 have had the same problems about loosening of the plastic covers. No one got compensation. So, no, they will never show our kitchen because then they would agree that it was poor work that they sold.
    Thanks for your suggestion.
