Reclaimed wood planks finished with resin for protection or just leave it and oil it from time to time

HI -- Maybe a copper or zinc counter top . I like the re-claimed wood idea too or a wood slice with a live edge , it all depends on how much $$$ you want to spend . I saw a bar top once made like a car finish -- metal over wood and finished by a auto paint shop with a chrome edge ... so cool !! You could even take it further by having it art air brush painted . The art air brush painting can also be done over well prepared plywood . My son does air brush art on all sorts of things like motor bikes and so on . He made a metal console table that has a plywood top that looks like stone/marble . A similar console table in a high end furniture store cost 2 thousand but had the real stone top.
