What do you mean add something to the exterior wall? A decorative something in the covered porch area? Can you post a photo from a little further back so we can see the entire front?

If you are looking for décor, you could put in a tall colorful planter at the entry. Here is the concept


What I see in the photo you posted is your garbage can station, You can hide that behind a partition perpendicular to the house with a couple of planters too. Inspiration pics below.

You could add a deck to the steps, such as you see below. It could extend in two directions, giving you as much seating as you want. Make it small or make it large!

Great idea Mallene. There are all kinds of places you can go to buy outdoor art. Esty.com or frontgate or just a google search. Art is very personal. You might even want to make something yourself to welcome friends and family. After all, what is more personal than designing and making it yourself?

If the wall were mine, I would go a bold and colorful. Something that says "Come on in!"

Something like this one but it is probably too large for your particular space because it is 40"W x 36H" Measure the available area you have to cover and still have a margin when you stand back from the front to get an idea of maximum size.


I would hang this one vertically or get one that is vertically oriented because your space is tall and narrow and not wide. So the shape is important to best showcase the area.
