I would do a clean drum shade (like the one below) over the table with some minimal, but sleek metal details to pull the contemporary style of the kitchen into the eat-in. I would go contemporary (not too funky) on the table, and would go black to pull the granite; I find it is incredibly difficult to match the wood on the cabinets to the furniture precisely. By going darker, you're creating a pleasant contrast.
