It looks great. A site finished floor allows the homeowner and designer to decide on the perfect stain for the floor instead of something off the shelf. Check out the Minwax wood stain site for a great list of available options.

Is it oil or water based finish?

The finish on this floor was a moisture cure urethane. However, a similar look can be achieved with a high quality waterborne finish applied by a hardwood flooring contractor.

I am refinishing 2 1/4 red oak in a house now. We are trying to match mini wax dark walnut to achieve this look but using Bona products. Did you use a satin or semi poly ? The floors are beautiful!

We used a semi-gloss moisture cure urethane.

    The product is

    W.D. Lockwood Water Soluble Dye

    Notes from our hardwood guy:

-I used the water base (NOT ALCOHOL BASE) - The more dye the darker the final product.

-The color was either Standard Brown Walnut or Dark Brown Walnut (he does not recall)

The clear finish was a moisture cure urethane over a dye type stain.
