I would definitely add a large mirror on the left wall.

There is plenty of room for a buffet /sideboard if you wish
either add a large mirror to it or a large piece of art ,then change the chandelier into a more elaborate one ,a rug will give the room warmth as well

perhaps a large rug to define the space - one pretty tightly woven so can pull chairs back easily - and when pull them out to sit, are still on the rug.

Here's something - the scale of the room and entry door are what is making it feel as though you have no space. Which of the two entry doors is operable? I'll assume the one closest to the table as it has hardware. Go to the wall on the other side of it and place a small entry chest with a lamp and a piece of art above it - that will be your entry zone. First, you need a great thick rug - that is the only thing that will stop echos and define the space better - it should be about as wide as the wall and at least 4' longer than the table so you can pull the chairs out and still be on the rug. Then, do some large art - mirrors are only really great when they reflect something gorgeous - something hung high enough to reflect the light from the transom, for instance . . but most of these walls need large art pieces - you could do a series of three over three on the end wall, and one major canvas - loft size on the big wall . Here's another thought - the entry hall does look large enough for a smaller round table centered under the pendant light - 36" - 42" would work. You need a place to lay things down when you walk in the door - you can center it with a tall piece of sculpture, - you could even place a 42" armoire there as a backdrop to a smaller entry with circulation behind it. This will help you use the space. The table can 99% be organized as an entry table, but repurpose it as a sideboard / buffet table as needed during a dinner party.

How about adding some wainscoting into the room - it would brighten it up if it was white or light gray? Mirrors and a brighter chandelier are also great options. I would definitely try to find bright wall sconces as well - modern ones. Do you want to go more modern in this room or are you keeping a more traditional feel?

A lighter color for the walls, art (large rather than small), and an area rug large enough for the table and chairs with adult people in them. I suggest the rug be a minimum of four feet longer and four feet wider than the measurement of the table to allow for space to move the chairs out for sitting down without going off the rug edge. Add a chandelier with enough available wattage to actually brighten room.
