Hi,

We need to choose a wall colour for this hallway which is adjacent to this sunken room with brown carpet. (As you can see we've been going sample pot crazy)

There is exposed brick throughout the room, and the brick colours vary from browns, oranges and the occasional cream.

At this point I regret the brown carpet, which we have only just bought and so cannot replace, as it is so dark, but also quite a warm brown, and difficult to coordinate with. (It looked so much better on the small swatch, and seemed to tie in with the blinds)

Normally we love bright, bold colours but feel that White is our only choice here, to lighten the room (ceilings are high, lots of windows) and also because the brick is limiting.

I guess we need a shade that will brighten the hall area, without looking chalky against the brown, while ideally maintaining an intimate cosy feel in the sunken lounge room.

Any advice much, much appreciated!

(All furniture is v old and going to be replaced)
