Need Help with a celing Layout

Hi!
please help. I have a serious design dilemma.
I have a dining room "kink" in the wall (due to an extension of the area after foundation was laid).
I have attached an image of the layout as originally designed and the red portion is what was pushed out and extended thereafter.
There is now a lintel that cannot be removed due to the upstairs of the house being supported here.
Please can you help me decide how to design this roof area so that its not ugly and weird. I need it to look like it wasn't an after-thought!
