Window treatments??

What type of window treatments would you recommend for this window? This is our living room (don't mind the random chair or unfinished baseboard).

Since you are doing cellular shades throughout the house, put it on these windows also. Then decorate the room. Once you are done, you will know more of what kind of window treatment you would like. Whether it be a valance, drapes, or nothing else may be needed. Let it sit.

This window calls for shutters.... 3 1/2'' shutters that match the color of the molding. It would be stunning.

It may cause a glare as the TV will be directly across from the window. I am doing cellular shades throughout the house, so I think shutters in only one window may not look very cohesive.

I would suggest to place a high backed sofa directly under the window. Then drapery panels hung as high as the ceiling should flank the windows. Make sure they are each a good enough width as to not look like an afterthought - at least 24" wide.

Consider a custom solar shade. That way light still can enter even when it is closed.

If budget allows, enlarge window. If not (and privacy is not an issue) leave it. It looks as though the room can use all the light it can get.
