I see in the first picture that the window casings hadn't already been installed. They are now finished and look fantastic. I kind of like the paint only look, but was wondering if it looks unfinished.

White ceramic tiles, either square or this interesting arabesque shape would be nice.

This will sound incredibly boring, but subway tile about the color of the lightest color in your countertop. I think you do not want anything to compete with the pretty elements that are already there, but something that will harmonize and set the counter and wood to their best advantage. As it looks very nice now, you can wait and take a breather too, and think about it another day.

I have white appliances, lightish oak cabinets and am getting new quartz with a different pattern but in some ways similar look to your quartz. I hope my kitchen comes out as pretty as yours!

The green glass crossed my mind too. It would be pretty, but would it tie you down to green as an accent?

This kitchen is so refreshing and beautiful!!! I have been looking at houzz kitchen photos trying to update my kitchen but they are all WHITE with STAINLESS STEEL appliances! I love the soft green paint color, creamy countertop, and warm natural wood. The white appliances are crisp and classic. I like the simple matching backsplash you already have. I wouldn't change a thing. Thank you for sharing this picture:)

May I ask what paint color you used?

I agree with those who like it just the way it is. It allows for updates and/or color changes with just a paint change. I think we have gone crazy with backsplashes that become busy and distracting. Your counter should be the focus as it is beautiful and expensive!

I would leave it just like it is.

I'm an off-white subway tile enthusiaste. Yes, remove the low counter material backsplash if you do go with a backsplash. Sorry, they probably asked you if you wanted it done this way, but you were probably not committed to the whole design at the time. Am I wrong?

I'm somewhat afraid of the clear glass as it is sometimes difficult to apply the backing adhesive smoothly so the ridges won't show.

Whatever you decide to do if you go with a backsplash add it for functionality rather than just good looks. some people are using a rough texture stacked stone which as you can imagine will be impossible to clean nicely. I like the pillow shape subway to give it a different look.

Also, be sure to install under cabinet LED lighting to show off your beautiful new kitchen. Kudos to you. I just looked again at your kitchen. There is so little under cabinet space above the counter, splurge for something fantastic & more costly than subway. Keep it white to hide the outlets, though.

kjoy1, I honestly don't remember the name of the color. (I'm sorry.) We looked at so many colors. It came from ACE Hardware.

sandra, I went with the matching backsplash because I couldn't make another decision and had chosen the paint for the non-counter walls.

jhmarie, I try and try to use different colors, but I very often end up with green. I think it is safe to commit to green. I only have one room in my whole house that I didn't do in green and even that room has teal walls. :)

White subway tile would look clean and keep it classic.

It looks like you have Venus granite counter top which carries a bit of green, it looks great with the wall painting it has now. Maybe in the future you could put off-white subway tiles which would make the kitchen look cozier and classic.

Deco, good eye, you are close. It is Cambria Windermere and has copper and charcoal colors in it with a green tint.

auntthelma - I totally understand. I am the same way with blue:)

I will probably use cream or white subway tile, but I keep thinking about trying to bring in some blue. I've seen some cement tiles with blue that I really like, so thinking maybe I would use those between stove and vent, but I don't have much space there. I have a little more than you do because the micro is not above, but I cannot afford the range that doesn't have the higher back. I am not sure what makes those over $1000, but they all seem very pricy.

jhmarie, I know the overhanging microwave is not the most beautiful vent, but it seemed the most efficient place to put it. It works for us.

I completely agree with everyone that you actually already have a backsplash. I've never seen tile above a countertop backsplash. I'm sure it's been done but I don't think it's something a designer would encourage. You've done a great job. Your kitchen looks done. Very pretty. The soft green is so nice for a change.

But, I just realized you do have space around the sink - could add green there if you wanted or go with the green you like before.

I had the basement painted green when we finished it to try to step away from the blue - and my son likes green and his room is down there, but I still sometimes wander over to the blue paint chips....

love those tiles. They could be an accent tile if you think they are too much for a whole kitchen. Or, they would be nice in a powder room or on a feature fireplace in an historic home.

I would stay away from the green..in my experience it is a color that people get tired of most in kitchens-keep it clean and simple

I love your maple cabinets, and I'm a white appliance fan I too. So refreshing! If you are going to do a backsplash, I like the idea of white subway tiles, it would tie the kitchen together as a unit (versus uppers and lowers). I'd leave the 4" backsplash you have now, too.

I don't know if you found a backsplash yet but I saw this picture and thought of your dilemma.

This is the info I could find about picture...Cambria Windermere countertops, glass backsplash (random strip in sands), pendant lights with Edison LED bulbs, Kohler undermount sink with smart divide, Kohler faucet, Kohler soap dispenser and under cabinet lights.

These Allen and Roth Ceramic Tiles from Lowes in the color Fawn were a pretty match with my Windermere sample...

Hello @kjoy1 - I was wondering if you installed Windermere and with the tile color you showed below? We chose Windermere, too, and am considering Daltile Almond subway. Our kitchen doesn't have a window, itself, but the light comes in from an open concept LR/DR with four very large windows. Thank you - Jen
