Decor Ideas Needed

We just moved into our first home and I am at a loss as to what to do about our living space. What colours to add or decor to tie it all in. I love rustic but I also like fresh modern pieces. Eventually wee ant a lighter couch but this is what we have for now. The walls are alight beige. I will post more pictures in a comment of the other half of the space. It's not a large room and the dining and living space are one. Thank you in advance!

Hi, what happened after this post??? You space looked great! I would restore it to its prior glory, slip covers and all. Don't add any more furniture pieces. Just add the rug, hang your gallery wall above the sofa and throw a few decorative pillows on the couch.

I remember those new home issues. Start with a feature wall above the sofa or in the dining area. You need a few more feature colors...draw those from your art on the walls...lamps beside the sofa need to be bigger. Toss some baskets into the side board beside the table..

This post is actually from months ago, and a bunch of stuff happened and I didn't have a chance to change much. I have an updated post now, pretty much the space looks the same, I'm just trying to figure the furniture layout and then I will start decorating!
