I was thinking similar thoughts about the bed's state. It needs some statement pillows to pull the look together. Shams behind the white and the lumbar in centre front.

I think your wall color is the wrong neutral for your bed. Your walls read yellow beige, but your bed (and window shade) read pink beige. That element alone is disturbing. Then I would install drapery panels instead of a shade and move that mirror (place above dresser?). The current proportions for your artwork above your bed are not working for you. You need to really work that wall as a focal point. If you stick with subdued colors, bring in size and texture. If you go for contrast, stay smaller, but spread out a little, even above then night stands. Same with your bedside lamps; the shade or lighting part needs more girth/ bigger size. Since you are working the neutral look with a touch of rough iron, I'd choose between contrast between artwork or lamps. If you do both, it will tip the balance to too much dark. Have fun.

I disagree, Cristina. The yellow beige and pink beige (and do we even know if they look like that in real life) could work just fine, when adding some moccha and coral (darker tones of the same color). It will make the vague hues belong to something else.
Or, when looking for a light dreamy look, remove the black/dark items and introduce more off-whites and pastels.

Rinqreation I can only go by the pictures like everyone else here, and that is how it looks on my screen. Those two undertones in beige aren't flattering together. Yellow undertones make pink-beiges look dirty. There is plenty on online ink and pictures showing how yellows muddy up pinks when working with neutrals. Using a pink-beige or blue-taupe wall color would brighten the fabric from the head board.

For me personally the shell of a space is really important, then I think about layout and then accessories. IMO just adding more stuff to the room without figuring out what to do with the shell first doesn't help.

The shade and the mirror look out of place. I would install drapes to frame the room and move the mirror to another part of the room where it can act as an accent piece instead of just being there. Bring some color to the bed with pillows and another colorful throw something and I would bring the height of the night table up. It looks lost in that corner. Maybe a taller lamp or a tall vase.

So far, I will add the espresso color to the frames, add a orange trow, some pillows, I also liked the idea of putting something taller on the side table, and I'll remove the mirror. As for the curtains, should I add a solid color or something more fun? I'll try to take a better picture, and show the entire room. Thanks

Add window treatments that have the orange color from the picture on the fabric pattern, and add some pillows to the bed that's all you need. Color.

Drapery panels. From very close to the ceiling down to the floor. That would enlarge the look of the window and make the ceiling look higher.

Try moving the pictures over the bed so they are over the bedside tables instead--one on each side hung very low and behind the lamps.

Probably moving the pictures over the bed to the side sounds like a good idea, but than I think the rest of the wall would look pretty empty. My furniture is pretty neutral, I have a monochromatic tendency, and I'm trying to change it a bit. I'm loving all the ideas!!!!!thank you all

well here is a bunch of ideas i had. maybe a cornice, add some coral blue, or blues in general, small art on window wall.. throw pillows.

I think some various textures would help. The photo below I found on house is a very simple design but there are various textures, some shine, some mat finishes… Your room is peaceful, I like what you have so far. I can see a neutral kind of shimmery curtain panel, maybe the color of the bed. A fluffy textural throw or blanket at the end of the bed, maybe in your gray color. And, a pattern with your colors and even some texture in pillow covers instead of the ones that match your bed cover. A rug, as mentioned would help. You could keep the calm vibe with a fluffy lambs wool or go for a modern toned down gray print or the possibilities are endless.

The mirror beside the window was the first thing that caught my eye, so I am sooo happy you are going to move it. It needs to be over something....is there a dresser for it? Do you NEED it and USE it or is a bathroom handy for a mirror?

The room looks great, very warm and inviting. I think it needs decorative pillows and accessories, try adding a pop of color with some vases, candles or fresh flowers on the night stand and I would source some bright artwork for the walls, they are looking a little bare. I would pull inspiration from the artwork hanging above the bed, it's bright and fun. Good luck!

I like the photo suggestions from Dr Nancy and Interiors Unleashed. I did a little mock up of kind of the two, but more monochromatic like Interiors. I like that mono chromatic look. Looks very sophisticated. I put your mirror over the bed.

I just watched American Dream Builders last night, and the panel ripped one of the teams for their *pop of color* ideas. They said it was no longer the thing to do. I always thought it was good to have some color... According to them, no. There went everything I thought I knew about color. haha

I agree with sarah in Italy. I think your room is gorgeous. I would take down the pictures and do everything monochromatic. Put the mirror above the bed for drama. My bedroom is similar to yours and all of my friends are aghast as to how lovely an off white tone on tone color scheme really is. Very glamorous and soothing at the same time.

Since your desk is by the bed, maybe consider eliminating the side table there so they are not as crowded and side by side. Put the lamp on the desk and then it can be used for the bed AND for the desk.

I think it looks beautiful as is. I would put a taller fresh flower arrangement in the corner and call it done. :) If you feel it needs something, doctornancy created a good mock-up.

Beautiful bed! I think you could add a few square and rectangular toss pillows in solid coral and geometric prints and long panels of solid coral fabric on either side of your window with your tasteful and functional trailered roman shades for light control/privacy. The long panels will add some softness and use a large diameter dark wood rod for hanging the panels. Could you hang the mirror on another wall? I feel a print or another type of wall hanging might look better where the mirror is currently, although it is difficult to tell without seeing the complete room. It is a lovely master!

I would add drapes (could go with a pattern too); 3 pictures above bed, not two. You could add in a pillow with a pattern/color in the center, but not needed.
