Oops, that's not minuet! HERES minuet!

We are getting minuet installed next week! I love the look of marble too and considered it for the backsplash, but am going with white glass subway tile instead for a "cleaner" look. Good luck with your decision!

I really love carrara marble but am considering LG Minuet as well, to me it looks the closest to actual carrara. I'm not sure how Minuet would look next to real carrara tiles, perhaps you can go to a tile store & bring your Minuet sample & compare it there & then you will know for sure.

@designmuse, I haven't made a decision yet! It's so hard. Our counter will be installed this week, so I may wait to see it installed and then choose. But my husband and I are wracking our brains!

Emmabug, looks great!! How exciting!! But yes, head decisions are hard, aren't they?! We are sitting with the new cabinets, and may just wait until counter install to decide. I've stacked some marble (from lowes actually) next to our sample to see how I feel about it.

This is the kitchen as of today. Waiting on counters (template being taken tomorrow) and still searching backsplash options. (Thinking of herringbone pattern marble?)

I don't think it looks good personally. Infact it may be borderline tacky. Both marble and lg minuet are gorgeous materials but together the marble is just going to thwart the quartz. They are too similar to complement. It's just going to feel like real marble/fake marble instead of gorgeous quartz.

Tems, it's always good to hear others opinions. I'll definitely keep yours in mind :)

I ended up going with white arabesque tile with platinum grout.

@designmuse, it's gorgeous! Love it!! I literally picked up that arabesque today and it's in the running now...

@emmabug, I literally said "oh my gosh!" Out loud right now. This is EXACTLY what we've been looking at and decided on. May I ask where the backsplash is from?! And what thickness of a miter edge did you do?!

Ah, I had a feeling it was 2.5"! Ours it literally being fabricated as we've been responding today, and I did a 2"...and kept wondering if I should've gone bigger.

Counters are in! And backsplash samples (some not all) are here. I'm leaning towards the middle (herringbone).

I must say the herringbone looks rather good. While still not my fave mix, the more chopped up tile makes the comparison of natural marble and the counter less of a factor.

Thanks @Tems. The herringbone definitely doesn't make the difference in materials quite as obvious, and the marbling of its colors works pretty well with the Quartz!

@emmabug, oh how I love them!! I was worried since I'd only ever seen a 12x6in. sample, but I took a "risk" and it's sure paid off so far!! We even got 4 more samples of marble herringbone (including photo), but they just done look "right" to me. Im sticking with the herringbone above from TileBar as the winner so far!

Gorgeous kitchens! I'm also planning a white kitchen with shaker cabinetry, faux marble countertops (Cosmos Venata quartz). I'm in love with the herringbone backsplash, but alas it's not in the budget and will likely opt for something like this.

Ok, backsplash is in and we're (except for new Revere Pewter paint) done!

The backsplash continues to lighten as grout dries. Part of me wishes I'd done a lighter grout, maybe even white-but overall I'm extremely happy!

@emmabug I LOVE your kitchen! what are your floors?

@emmabug sorry do you also mind me asking what size your island is? we just finalized our cabinets - designer white by BM and ordered our LG minuet.. still trying to hammer out tile....your marble looks great but also considering a plain white subway or white arabesque @designmuse do you have any more photos?..

Emmabug-do I understand the post correctly that you could choose the depth of the edge with LG Minuet? I'm going to have a farmhouse sink and not sure if that would change things.

I was just wondering is any of the ladies who went with the marble herringbone backsplash had any issues with keeping it clean? We are doing a white beveled subway tile backsplash, but are doing an accent piece behind the range with the marble herringbone tile similar to the photos above. TIA!

Emma are your cabinets white or light grey? I am thinking of using Minuet against my light grey cabinets. I wanted to be sure that there would be a distinctive contrast though. I think Minuet has a pretty white background.

Considering a marble herringbone backsplash with my grey cabinents and Brava Marfil Quartz counter top (looks like minuet).
I was concerned it would look tacky pairing a faux marble (our Quartz counters) with real marble but the pictures on the thread look amazing. I think herringbone pattern is an exception with marble because it reveals less depth and goes well with a lot of different counters.
We were planning on doing a subway backsplash but these pics have me sold on Marble herringbone!

For the life of me, I cannot figure out what to do. Our cabinets are being made by our carpenter. We will destroy my first pick of marble counters...but I'm so worried that a marble looking quartz will be have too gray of a background and make my white cabs look funny...so debating a white/gray granite...but can't decide or find the right thing! I'm for sure sold on the marble herr tile backsplash, but am worried how it will look next to either quartz or granite..... Any and all help is SO appreciated!
