I don't love the top one that's all curvy, but like the rest. We were actually talking about herringbone today!

Adam, I think that option you posted will compete too much with the movement in the countertop. You'll probably do better with a solid color backsplash.

Thanks for the input everyone! We decided against the herringbone option that we brought home.

Instead now are looking at this simple glass mosaic and a long subway tile that has a wavy surface. Considering both options on their own, or using the mosaic as an accent strip through the middle.

The two options combined.

no accent strip. you don't have the space for it nor do you need it. your granite is the star. those two together would possibly work if you had a solid white granite. your granite is busy, you can't have a backsplash with all that going on!

Either of those last two will work, although, not digging the bright white wavy subways. the size is fine, but I think a more muted white w/no waves would be better. something like this:

most people on this site don't like the glass bars. I think they look fine w/the right items.

It looks as though your counters have a lot of gray, but I wouldn't paint the walls gray. Your cabinets are warm, and I think gray walls would just not look good with your cabinets.

Perhaps you can use a light background color from the counters for the walls. You might want to buy some sample pints of paint to test wall colors. Good luck.

Beth is giving you great tile advice so I won't try to add on to that (other than to agree that she is so right about the mosaic strip - don't do it!). My comment is about the navy accent wall. I know you didn't ask for advice about it, but honestly there will too much going on if you do it. You have a lot of that countertop and it's beautiful. The rest of the room needs to quietly complement the Fantasy Brown, not present something that visually competes for attention.
