I can't tell from the photo what the material of your shutter is? If it's wooden it could be painted to match your island color. Even if it isn't wooden, I wouldn't sacrifice the color of your island to match your shutter. Your island is a huge focal point, so you want to be 100% happy with it. If the shutters and island aren't a perfect match, I still think it would look nice :)

I think it will really brighten the space. Will you be adding bar stools to the island?

If you want Modern, then you want a bright white, as shown. If you want more Traditional, then do cream. Or a color. Like a navy or tan.

You do not have to have every white in your home match. It is better if they don’t, to use a multitude of white shades to make them coordinate. Which the counter appears to have. White and cream and wood is a good mix. Just don’t start mixing in beige or gray.

This is a much better layout than you have currently. Good to see someone caring about that.

I have Kilim Beige in a bathroom... not as much of a fan as when it went on the wall a few years ago...it’s really beige. I love the Pale Oak I just painted in my adjoining living room since I can either play up or down the beige or gray.

The cabinet pantry will store so much more than the drywall pantry. That’s the one regret that I have about my refresh. I wish I had torn it out. It just wasn’t possible to match the existing cabinets and make it look good. Better shelving has helped, but still.
