The 2-sided fireplace is getting a quartz mantle and being tiled in Light grey glass tiles.

I think I need a 9 x 12 area carpet for the "white furniture" side, but not so much a "patterns" fan. Any suggestions?

i love it. i am assuming the blinds ignore the curvature of the window and just go across? i have always preferred and up down blind, I understand they now call roman, which I often set in the middle. it allows me to see exactly what i wish to see and keep out whatever i want. i know you can get it in cello(?), it has an interior air space and cloth.

There are some fascinating wall effects and even some wall papers now, that you might wish to try, I wash thinking on those large columns, they really are the perfect size to play with. you can do a mod glam. Or how about the tree ones, that would be fab against all that metal and then these tree trunks running so high. i admit that many times it might be so been there, done that, but in this case, to have them going so high on a narrow space, it could really add something new to it.

i see gray, white, black and a little burgundy. Lets see what i can dig up ok? Most things are for colors and feels not mattering whether it is a pillow or bedroom or even a bath, ok?

red and white or both of these are really in, pattern color and white, so you can really mix it up in a wide variety of colors and patterns, below bird and other nature images are also in, many colors, many images

he is rather tropical but represents a color mix that goes together and really has a sense of humor. Below, teal is very in, goes great with your colors and these are both reasonable, velvet and 2 for 1!

gray with white and spring green, look at the wall behind the fire place, they even have things that look like waves now, pretty reasonable price, stick them on paint if you want.

rather formal, but you can buy and then glue on molding, giving this glam, formal, but also modern with a bit of irreverence in the pillows
look at that cool wall paper, get a mirror that will reflect the ocean out the window, that is glam

Wow, havingfun, so many great ideas. I'm going to work on finishing the unpacking in the next few days and get a good idea of what I need to edit. I will post pics. It will certainly be an Eclectic space!! :)

Your have really varied tastes. Not so sure all of them work together --most of us don't have the special knack that is needed to bring so many elements into a fun, cohesive room. Wall bling, animal prints and rustic trunk are the items. Might be good to get a professional over to help.

Lol, Leelee, half the fun is trying to work with it. The "animal" prints are limited edition by a famous Canadian artist and my husband is attached,. Since we have only been there only a few weeks and are still unpacking, this was a very preliminary posting, just trying to get a feel. Moving from a large home with traditional separation of rooms into an open concept condo will be a challenge I agree. But I have followed houzz for several months now, and have seen some really great advice and transformations from everyone.

Sorry marb, i know i tend to be overenthusiastic, but i love it all so much. I forgot to mention that i love your wall jewelry and the animal prints. Art, in my opinion goes everywhere. I actually paint my walls to accommodate my art. I think with your walls i might finally have enough space for it all. Forgive my brain burps. let me know if you don;t understand something. Thinking of something like this for the side with the cayenne coloured chairs and still am stumped on something for the "white" side.

yes, i really like that, lightens the space let includes the cayenne, and i love that name by the way, never heard it called that before. So here are a few, i was good, did not go crazy, just introducing a little new color?

I am sure your environment would support this really cool floor i saw, recycled leather! No good if you have pets though. Oh yes, if you want me to remove stuff, just let me know.

Hi Havingfun.....I've been a little slow to get things unpacked...The new kitchen delivers on Thursday, so anxious to see how the cabinets look other than seeing a gaping hole. Lol, and I've placed and replaced items so many times....will post new pics when it's not such a disaster zone...open plan living...:)_I must admit the I'm really struggling with the cayenne chairs. Not naturally a colour I gravitate to, but they were beautiful in their old spot in a spare bedroom of our house. But I know we can make them look fabulous!!

and Leelee was right....I like a LOT of different things. Just about everything we have has a story and some history....apparently I'm not ready to put that aside quite yet for decorating....:) So.....it's going to be a challenge to pull it together..

Having fun.....Thanks I haven't thought about the click together. I've seen them used in some commercial environments..I think getting the kitchen in will help a lot. Thats what you see on that end of the room. Kitchen and dining area. It will brighten things up a lot. Grey cabinets, Cambria Torquay counter and island and 2 floating glass cabinets. 24 x 12 White tiles for backsplash to the ceiling and a 36" mosaic from the counter to ceiling behind the range hood. mosaic is attached.

Quart mantle is on the fireplace is being installed tomorrow. Glass tiling for the small fireplace will wait until they tile the backsplash in the kitchen. Thats in a light grey glass. 12" x 2"

Ohhhh, aren't you having a lot of fun. We shall all just sit back and enjoy the show. And don't feel bad about the old stuff, I never ditch for decorating, I always decorate to include what I love.
