My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

"Would still love exterior ideas on this." That is what the architect is for. When I see poor design, I recommend engaging an architect. You may not want to hear it, but it is the best advice you have received so far, and I am not the only one that knows it. You have good reason to be freaked out. I do not say this to be hurtful, I say it because I want you to truly love your house and when you go to sell it I do not want you to have a forever house because you can't sell it. A local architect will be able to determine your needs and wants, analyze where you are in the process, and spend the time to fix what you have; hopefully in a timely manner. Nobody here has what it take to properly come up with a solution for you, they will just throw out random ideas to see if you bite.

Maybe we should extend the patio off Spencer's bedroom (and cover it like this) thereby extending the area outside the kitchen for a nicer outdoor seating area.

Considering integrating low stucco walls connecting some of the posts outside the back doors of the house - would be great to make them into raised planters instead of just walls, and incorporate bench seating into the design as well.

Love the low stucco wall idea. This could be cool to integrate around the outdoor fireplace, and we could paint the wall beside the fireplace/chimney a dark color to achieve this look (with natural stone facing on the fireplace itself)

The low wall between the pillars, and add curtains to create an outdoor lounge space in one of the segments in the backyard under the overhangs, especially around an outdoor kitchen area.

Could we achieve this aesthetic in our *hallway* patio space? Love the squared off beams in place of our big stupid stucco boxes, and love the framing to break up the wooden ceiling detail with nice fans, etc. An outdoor TV would be pretty great, too.

Would be nice to extend the concrete patio space in back of the house by adding wood decking (or trexdeck or the like) -- And could we have the drop down that leads to the pool be wooden as shown here, rather than rock?

Love this look and feel for outside the primary bedroom. Maybe lose the lawn, and create a rock+ garden with a fire-pit and seating
