High, but big windows on either side of fireplace. Shelves or something underneath the windows.. Interior window separating kitchen and family room. Don’t love the ceiling, but would expect to want something of similar detail (maybe a little less).
Fireplace idea. Less black, but this idea. Use brick instead of stone.
Really like the way this looks, but given cost of masonry would probably want to figure out how to do less. The arched compartments are really cool. Maybe do something like that on one side of the fireplace for storing (decorative) logs. Other side could be shelves.
