Low back, making the most of the views, classic design with modern walnut legs to go with walnut bookcase. Downside: It is almost certainly too deep, it is upholstered in a poly “plush” and we might really want a neutral color. The style is good though.
Ideally, this would have wheels.
Two matching couches, leather, two chairs. My guess is that we can either have two couches and possibly one chair, or we can have one couch and two chairs using our small oriental rug. I like the color of the couches as an alternative to blue couches. It might make the rug pop more to have the furniture neutral.
Layout around fireplace wall. If we placed the furniture at the side edges of the rug (placed length-wise)and had a short enough couch on the edge facing the fireplace, would there be enough room for the library table to be placed behind it and still have pass-through spaces at the ends of the couches?
These speak beautifully with the bookcase in the living room, they are flexible and can serve as side tables anywhere, they are the color that much of our wood furniture shares, and they add a simplicity of line to a room that is inclined to be a little heavy and fussy. They are also good quality. Not sure we need more brown wood though—if we could find some glass and brass tables that don’t look cheap next to the coffee table, we would see more of the rug.
