Meh. Like: Warmth of the herringbone floor. Little wood stool is a cute accent. Hooks are unique. Cabinet color is OK (but we really prefer stained to painted cabinets). Enclosed storage. Room for shoes on the brick floor means less work to keep a shoe area clean. I like the floor; it provides some warmth and is very practical for a mudroom since it won't show dirt easily and will be easy to clean. Gold-tone hardware is a beautiful finish. Dislike: Kind of boring. Limited seating area. No drawer storage (unless it's hidden in the cabinets). For us, drawers will be important, or shelves, to store gloves, hats, scarves, etc.
Like: Dutch door! Black framed windows. It's clear where things go here (including shoes - but how do you clean that shoe area???). Light colored slate-look tile is pretty. Lots of light in the room. Dislike: Light fixture. Overall it's too white. There is not enclosed coat storage (that I can see). A bit too farmhouse for my taste.
Like: Cabinetry is beautiful - love the stain color. So warm. Love the wood and black combination. Love the windows above the hooks and the surface of the bench seat (although I think we might want a cozy looking cushion on our bench seat - maybe). Mixed metal with the black hardward and the gold-tone hooks works beautifully here. I like the floor but it's a little busy - maybe something similar but in a larger pattern might work better for me. Love all the enclosed storage. Would add a beautiful tray - maybe double tray - to stash mucky shoes/boots when needed. I think Aunt Francis's umbrella stand would be lovely in a room like this one.
Like: Warmth of the wood floor, wood bench seat, and gold-tone hardware. Color incorporated via blue cabinetry. Lots of light from the full-lite door. Style of the door frame and cabinetry and crown molding - simple, classic, and elegant. Lots of enclosed storage with easy-access hooks. Dislike: Light fixture, nothing really unique. I could envision something similar to this for us but different color cabinetry, less squared-off hardware, and maybe some unique quirky hooks to add some character. Maybe some unique hardware also to add some character (maybe the mudroom is where we incorporate the really pricey flower pulls we couldn't afford in the kitchen, for example).
Like: Overall this is beautiful. Love the stone walls, black framed full-lite door and sidelites, rug, fabric covered bench that looks comfy and inviting to sit on - it is so warm while still being bright. Dislike: Impracticality. Where does everything go? Coats, bags, shoes? I don't like the wood table on the left either; not our taste at all I don't think (definitely not mine).
Nice selection of different design styles. There are things I like and don't like in each of these.
Layout, bunny head coat hooks, light fixture.
