Something like this could work with a narrow, open table for an island. No room for anything on the other wall, not even shelves. Counter 2’ + 2x3’ on either side of the island leaving 16” for the island. It would have to be open underneath to not feel cramped. I’m not sure how a 16” island would feel.
Interesting idea. Most of the kitchen is a large island. Wall cabinets on end wall but not on side walls. You would have room for 3’4” wide island with 3’ on either side. The fridge would have to go on the wall where it used to be. The stove would be on the island which is difficult for ventilation.
