love the cantilevered hearth. Thinking building hearth framework from 2x4 and using the flagstone floor tile to cover it. Could do the width like this or stretch the hearth a little bit wider than the fireplace and wrap the hearth to the wall. Hearth would have square edges and corners so I feel the mantle would also need to be square edges and corners. That’s probably more cost effective than doing the slab. I love the way they did the fireplace screen although not necessary for yours.
This maybe lends to the different finishes with wood, light counters, gray tiled floor. Yes, this shows that the colors in the flooring don't have to match the cabinets. We are on right track with overall concept. Not fond of the counter wrapping up the backsplash. Maybe it would grow on us?
This look? Like it. Change cabinets to shaker style with a more mahogany color, don't like the backsplash, and want it to be different from the counter top rather than wrapped up the walls in some pictures. Prefer darker grout. Overall the gray tile makes sense to provide more open feel.
What do you think about this look for the kitchen Not as white as what is here Stained cabinets, light gray walls , countertops like you saw at thorntree Like the mixture of materials. Want floor to look like natural stone with matte finish. Yes, like it.
this one was at lonestar. not sure if it is too matchy with a slate floor. Love the scraped wood floor. Still trying to balance the look of wood with the durability of wood look tile with tbe dogs. If we could find wood look tile with scraped texture it would be an easier choice. For wood, we like seeing the grain but dont care for the black wood grain in the wood you sent us a picture of.
experimenting with wood flooring shades on slate floor 2/3 This is too busy next to each other
experimenting with wood flooring shades on slare floor 3/3
experimenting with different shades of wood with slate floor. color 1 of 3
like this look for a countertop. light color with distinct veining. Porcelain might be a good material to have the look of marble but more stain resistance. Is it durable, how easy to shatter?
like this, maybe behind the bed as an accent wall? or stairs accent wall?
Anna loves this slate for the kitchen/entry. Thorntree showroom floor. Like the modern take on the traditional slate, fun patterns. Only concern is will this be too busy in kitchen? Would the varying width tiles look strange in a narrow place (hallway).
Like: wood accent wall behind the bed, fan, sliding doors to bathroom, airy feel. Don't like: chairs Ok great!
Like wood accent wall, airy feel. Don't like: Too much gray. Don't want fireplace in master. Ok Yes no fireplace just trying to get a better direction
What about this look for master bedroom?
Like the ledge stone accent wall along the stairs with the wood handrail
Really like the mix of the rich wood with the grey slate fireplace.
Really like this fireplace. Using two materials really helps the rock to not overpower the look and the thick square cut mantle works well.
Like the combo of granite, stone, stainless, and wood. Overlength door pulls are a bit much. Has a great modern feel with the cabinet design and stainless hood mixed with the mountain home feel of the wood ceiling details and floor.
This is our house. Not the best picture as everything is wet. We have landscape design that still calls for a tree in the blank area on the front.
We took a door from one of our 1/2 baths that we remodeled - we like this color wood. Trying to get ideas for the best color of rock accent wall near the stairs. However, we realize this rock wall will affect the flooring choices and we got stumped!
We found this back splash at Floor and Decor that we really like.
Really like everything in this photo. Dark floor with light countertop. Love the bar seating on two sides of the island. Makes it easier to talk with guests if you can face each other instead of sitting side by side. Cabinet color is also nice. Don't like the cabinet style though. Prefer shaker style cabinets with brushed nickel bar pulls
Really like the dark floor with the light counter top. Prefer a red-brown mahogany color for the cabinets though

Like the mantle up against the rock wall. Prefer more modern ledge stone with rough cut face
Living room windows to be framed like this excluding the built in window shades.
