Think casual dining Want to be able to dine outside, but don’t have the room for a separate dining setting? Consider making it a casual affair and inviting guests to eat on the sofa instead. Use a coffee table or a couple of side tables or stools to pop plates and glasses on. Or, consider cocktail party-style entertaining, where you’ll need little more than a wall-mounted bar table with a couple of stools tucked beneath it.
Protein-based spot or stain ¼ cup lemon juice¼ cup cream of tartar A paste of equal parts lemon juice and cream of tartar will remove protein stains such as blood, mud, food and more. Make a paste, rub it on the stain, let it sit 10 minutes, then wash it off with dampened cloth (I use olive oil-based castile soap and water for this step) and dry the piece with a clean cloth. Be sure to test a spot to make sure the lemon will not bleach the leather.
5. Think carefully about where you’ll locate accessoriesAs with any bathroom design, there will be a number of accessories you’ll need to add into your ensuite in order to make it a functional space. Towel rails, for instance, will need to be located near the shower and vanity. If your ensuite has limited wall space, consider locating accessories in other spots such as the back of the door, above or around the toilet, or on the side of the vanity (perfect for installing a toilet roll holder or hand towel ring). If you plan on installing accessories on the bathroom door, be sure to choose a solid-core style so that you can get secure fixings for the screws rather than having them fall off. Tip: Make sure all your plumbing fixtures and accessories are finished in the one colour for a seamless look.
If you have already decided to paint your walls white and your home has a breathtaking view, consider painting the trim to match. Eliminating the delineation between the walls and woodwork with white paint will allow the landscape to remain frameless, expanding the view’s presence in your home.
