After spending several years as an apprentice to a local craftsman in the northeast, he formed a home improvement company in his twenties. After a five-year detour as a full-time musician with the associated touring of the Lower 48 and parts of Europe, he grew tired of the starving artist lifestyle. He settled in Nashville, TN, where he created an award-winning design/build firm. Although construction is no longer part of his business, Adam’s experience as a general contractor enables him to design for real life; despite that many projects are uniquely cutting edge, his designs are created with the practical in mind. Adam assisted my wife and me with two and one-half baths. His plans were spot on! Adam captured everything we told him we wanted in our new baths (in our 100-year-old home). He also told us what we wanted that we didn't know we wanted. He helped with budget too, and separating our wants from our needs. Adam worked seamlessly with our contractor; everyone got a long great. We'd do it all over again, though we don't need to, we're so pleased with our new baths and everyone who made them happen. One last thing, and this may be important to homeowners with old, historic homes like ours: Adam respects architecture. He knew we wanted to stay true to the period. So while our baths are modern and 'smart', the cabinetry and stone we chose looks like it could or should have been there 100 years ago when the house was built. Cheers to you, Adam, well done!

We worked with Adam to scope a renovation for our main level including kitchen, pantry, great room and bar area. He was really great to work with. He reviewed our Houzz ideabooks to get a feel for our style and then brought a lot of unique ideas to fit our space. He was also wonderful about incorporating any suggestions or changes we had to his design. And most importantly, he was very patient with first time design clients in answering a lot of questions and waiting when life threw a curveball and we got delayed in responding. Highly recommend.

Adam took a 1990-style kitchen in a 1929 home, and completely transformed the space. He created a more open, light and modern feel, while implementing features that tie into style of the home. I couldn't be happier with the result. He's talented, knowledgeable and is an overall great guy to work with. I highly recommend him.

I had the best experience with Adam. I hired Adam after reading all the raving reviews about his work on the net and based upon personal recommendations from my friends. My house was built in 1930 and I plan to remodel most of the rooms including the kitchen, bathrooms, floors, staircases, etc. We started working together during the Covid-19 epidemic and we only met via zoom. Adam was very easy to collaborate with. He listened to all my wishes and expectations about the remodeling. and he completed the entire design flawlessly. I thought that he had to be a mind-reader sometimes, because I am Hungarian and I certainly do not possess the necessary vocabulary for house renovation. It was not a problem with Adam. He is a great listener, kind, extremely talented and has a great style. The design turned out to be perfect presented as a computer 3-D model with lots of details and plenty of material to work with for the contractor. Importantly, Adam stayed within the projected budget. I could not have dreamed about a better outcome. I cant' wait to start the building phase and watch his design will be realized.

We retained Adam for design of our master bath and another bath. The footprint of the existing master had too many angles and wasted space. Adam redesigned it with a more linear look and we love our European inspired spa bathroom. The other bath is a Jack and Jill we just switched out tile and had cabinets made using Adam’s design. Adam knew what we wanted and designed everything to our liking. I would highly recommend him for your next project.

Adam designed our kitchen several years ago. He asked for my opinions and what I liked, but also made suggestions of things that pushed me outside of my typical “ styles “ and comfort zone. One of the things I remember was a section of open shelving. I was opposed to the idea, but it turned out to be one of my favorite features! This year, after 25 years of living there, we sold our home. It sold in less than 4 days and went several thousand dollars over our asking price! I credit the amazing kitchen remodel that Adam designed as a major factor ! I would highly recommend Adam to create a room that is a place for your family to enjoy for years to come.

My husband and I have been working with Adam on renovating our kitchen, laundry room and bathrooms. He has presented a detailed open floor plan for the kitchen and dining area. He is very knowledgeable about appliances and discussed pro and cons of several brands. His design has maximized storage, lightening and natural light. He has created a pantry/laundry area that we had not considered but will improve our space and make our lives easier. The bathrooms have been designed with an emphasis on safety, aging and style. The master-bathroom design relocated and enlarged the room. The walk in shower includes attractive grab bars, fold down teak seat, faucets located on the wall opposite from the shower head, dual and adjustable shower head. Adam has been easy to work with and has offered many suggestions on how to update space to fit our lifestyle. He has been available to review and discuss issues with our contractor. We are looking forward to completing our renovation. I would recommend Adam to friends and family.

We hired Adam to re-design our kitchen. We moved into a 20+ year old home that has lots of angular spaces. It was quite a challenge for Adam- which he took on without hesitation. The new design space includes kitchen, butlers pantry, laundry room, powder room, and sitting room/foyer. We are so excited to see the finished product. Adam is personable, extremely thorough, detail oriented, and very knowledgeable on appliances, and latest state-of-the-art gadgets for the kitchen. He used really cool software to give life to the design so that we could see how it will appear when finished. He went above and beyond for us on our project- and we really appreciate that! Our GC and all of the subcontractors, who have reviewed Adam’s plans, all comment on the exquisite detail and how much that makes their jobs easier. I collaborated with Adam on a mudroom/alcove/guest bath renovation. On a personal level, he is warm and approachable. And as a professional, he is a natural partner who can give life to your ideas and ultimate intentions in new and interesting ways. My project involved a lot of "back and forth" during both the design and construction phase. Adam was always very responsive and willing to help modify our plans to accommodate current conditions. But the proof is always in the final product, and I regularly receive comments from people who knew the "before" that the after fare exceeds anything they could have imagine being done with the space.

We interviewed designers with large kitchen showrooms to small independents for our kitchen and great room remodel. We selected Adam Gibson because of his independence, i.e. not affiliated with a particular supplier or manufacturer, his passion for doing modern designs and his prior experience as a general contractor building homes. Adam is very knowledgeable of the trade and collaborated with us to turn our collective ideas into a beautiful design incorporating a modern kitchen that opens into a two story great room. There are captivating features such as new two story state-of-the-art windows that overlook our lake, a refaced natural stone fireplace and a ceiling soffit that transforms the space with lighting to fit any mood. The design plans included renderings, elevation drawings and multiple plans (construction, cabinet and electrical) in full detail. When the plans were completed, Adam defused our anxiety over finding the right general contractor by explaining how to approach the selection process and providing recommendations. Adam also helped with our selection of materials and finishes for our project by pointing us in the right direction on where to begin looking. During implementation the subcontractors were able to easily execute the design from the detailed plans and Adam was available to address any questions that surfaced. We would use Adam again for any future design project and highly recommend him if you want a creative well thought out design.

We live in an older 1926 home that needed some updating. We had a challenge in that our kitchen was tight and had an awkward layout. Adam was able to redesign our kitchen/family room by eliminating a large load bearing wall, which opened everything up and maximized the use of space. He has a clear vision and made the design process very easy for us. Our contractor loved the detail that Adam's prints provide which makes us feel much more confident that our project will turn out exactly how we want it. We would recommend Adam Gibson!

Unhappy with the inadequacies of the free "designs" we received from some local cabinet shops, we asked Adam to redesign our circa 1952, kitchen, which was last updated in the avocado-hued 70's. It was an unholy mess with 3 doorways, a closet, one window, and only 24 inches of food prep counter space between the stove and refrigerator. Adam saw the potential where we could only imagine the constraints. His design completely reimagined the space while incorporating the best of our ideas and adhering to our budget constraints. His price was very reasonable and well worth the money. Although we had to do an interim makeover and have yet to complete the entire project, I know when we do finish, it will be amazing, and I generally despise the over-use of that word. Adam is a just a talented designer, and a good guy who doesn't turn his nose up at middle income folks like us who buy fixer-uppers and haven't a ton of money to spend on one room. I wish we'd had him design our basement rec room and our bathrooms as well. I'm sure he can do it all.

My husband found Adam listed on the Houzz website. Normally, he and I can do most renovations ourselves, but the final renovation of our house was our master bath and it was going to involve moving walls. We also wanted the bathroom to be wheel chair accessible for possible future needs. We knew that we needed a professional who could draw the blueprints and had familiarity of ADA guidelines. Adam met with me and I explained what I needed. He then got to work measuring and inspecting walls, electrical and even the crawl space to check the subfloor. It wasn't long after that meeting that I received an e-mail from him that included a rough draft. We went back and forth a few times hashing out details of the rough draft through e-mails. After about 6 weeks we had a final blueprint. This might have been quicker, but we were on vacation for a while during this planing stage. It's exactly what we wanted! Very professional plans that we can follow. We have not been able to execute his plans yet, we have to first finish a terrace and deck project started this year and we have a wedding coming up, but we hope to start our master bath redo this spring. Adam is a pleasure to work with. He keeps currant on new developments in ADA design. His communication skills are excellent and he is very attuned to the client's needs. We cannot wait to start our master bath project. We will have wider doorways and a walk-in shower and better use of our space, thanks to Adam.

Adam did a wonderful job on designing our first floor house remodel. We were looking to bump out the back of the house to make a bigger kitchen. Didn't have to with Adam's design, we were able to open up the current space and build the kitchen that we always wanted. I think where he really shined was with the lighting selections and placement.

We worked with Adam on a major kitchen renovation for an older home (built in 1918). The project was quite involved as it included extending the footprint of the home; consequently structural issues added to the complexity. My husband & I wanted to remodel our master bath. We had a great contractor but the three of us just couldn't come up with a good plan to make the space more usable. I took my floor plans to Adam Gibson & told him what we wanted in our new bathroom. We wanted a larger closet, larger shower, separate room for the toilet, & a double sink. I was very pleased with Adam and the designs he drew up for our kitchen remodel. He spent a lot of time listening and asking questions, as well as examining our floor plan. We knew financially that we couldn't go 'full out' in opening up the kitchen to the dining room, but I was adamant that we could not just remodel the 'galley' kitchen and leave it at that. Adam was able to draw up a compromise plan and we love it. His plans are awesome and we are so excited to move forward.

We hired Adam to design an entertainment cabinet for our family room. Desiring something in keeping with our home’s 1930s period, yet sleek and elegant, he didn't disappoint. His attention to the smallest detail, right down to the precise width and depth of shadow lines (who thinks of shadow lines?) got us a functional and beautiful piece of built-in furniture that even the custom cabinet maker admired. Since he’s a photographer as well, perhaps he’ll shoot it one day! Adam? For now, here’s one of his renderings. He is an amazing talent. I highly recommend him as he is professional in all aspects of his craft.

Adam designed our dream addition which allowed us to discuss pricing in details with prospective builders. He provided renderings and was very available to hear what we wanted each step of the way, and was very resposnsive by email! we eventually went with a less expensive project which is what we could afford and he was very supportive! Would recommend him without reservations...we are now building our master bath and walking closet and turning an attached garage into a family room.

He also designed our kitchen, which is reviewed on houzz under Adam Gibson Design. Adam's designs possess great attention to detail that encourage using only the finest materials.
