As an architect, I am always looking for professionals who pride themselves in their craft and approach each project from a problem solving perspective. I found both were apparent when it comes to, Arizona Wood Renovations, LLC, who helped me with the finishing of the custom stair in my home. I was especially impressed that Steve, the owner of the business, was on site with my project from start to finish, beginning with an evaluation of the job and then helping me select the best finish product for my stair. He was present with his crew over a two day period as the work progressed and then followed up with me when it was complete. I was advised to "paint these galley kitchen cabinets white" on the advice of my realtor, in order to sell my house. So I looked at photos of similar houses for sale that clearly showed kitchen cabinets that had been painted white in an effort to update older out of fashion cabinets. Many looked as if the seller had tried to do it himself. Ugh. I was not optimistic or enthusiastic. I was skeptical that this was even the right way to go. So, I also looked into liquid sanding & re-staining my cabinets, and re-sealing them, and was told they would look a LOT better. One company estimated it would cost me well over $3,000 --and I did not even like or care for the re-finished samples they showed me! After asking a lot of different cabinet people a lot of questions, I just had a really good gut feeling about the answers I got from Steve Fetters of AZ Wood Renovations, LLC. I liked the kind of person he was, and listening to his explanations, I developed confidence in his knowledge, & experience. Thus he won my trust, offered to do the job for $2,100 and I hired him. The result was no less than astonishing. Steve delivered results that far exceeded the result I anticipated. Does this mean I had low expectations? Absolutely not. I am a perfectionist. My husband nicknamed me "Ms. Q.C" (quality control). My cabinets were original to a house that had 7 owners before me, and the fronts of them were in horrible condition. Some of my bathroom vanity drawers needed repair to the degree that several handymen had looked at them and told me they could not repair them. Steve took the job. He knew I was pushing a certain time table. He met my time table, perfectly. He had a friend of his re-build identical replicas of several of the drawers that were beyond repair. Did he charge me extra for this? No. He stuck to his original quote to me, that we had agreed upon. He brought samples of moulding like crown moulding for me to choose from to add to the tops of my plain cabinets, as well as knob samples. He brought a palette of whites for me to select from, (since I had requested white), but he also took some time to look carefully, himself, at the colors in my kitchen tile, and my wall color and my kitchen granite counters before recommending which particular white, of all the many whites, that he thought, in his experienced eye, would work best with the colors in the other components of my kitchen. In the end, I concluded his choice of white, was indeed the right choice, that was my final decision, and I gave him the go ahead. I waited a few days for the big reveal of my cabinets (since I was not living in this house) When I returned to see the finished work, I was wide eyed. I could barely believe it. Steve is no amateur. My finished cabinets had a surface smooth as glass, with just the perfect degree of sheen, not too shiny, just absolutely perfect! I had no worries about the paint ever chipping. Steve had added a hardener to the paint, he explained to me afterwards. My kitchen cabinets and my bathroom cabinets were TRANSFORMED. Doing this not only transformed the cabinets themselves, but the kitchen was transformed, the great room was transformed, the bathrooms were transformed. The result was ASTONISHING. The knobs he recommended were PERFECT. The moulding he had urged me to select, and that he had attached at the tops of the cabinets truly dressed them up, just the right amount, not too much. The moulding was minimal cost and yielded an amazing improvement. The particular shade of white Steve had recommended to me was incredibly perfect. Steve was easy to communicate with by text or phone call, he always got back to me the same day. He was always very specific, never vague. This was a guy whose word I could count on. My husband saw the results and was amazed at the perfection and the quality, and told me that he thought I really chose the right pro. I know I did. I would highly recommend Steve without any reservations, to ANYONE. I had a great experience working with him and I received a truly great result.

Let's start out by saying these guys came recommended and are not cheap. I paid about $700 to paint two small cabinets and a stair banister. I was out of town when they were doing the work (my wife let them in). When I came home, I saw several issues. First, they had carelessly gotten cabinet paint onto my walls and ruined the paint in a couple of places. They seemingly tried to clean it up, but succeeded only in smearing it all over the walls. To be fair, my wife told me they offered to touch up the walls. Let's let that go as "stuff happens". My bigger issue came when I took a look at the job they did, and noticed a few areas where the paint coverage was poor. Originally they had quoted that the job would take 2 days. They finished the job in 1 day, probably because they rushed it and thought they could get away with making some extra money by taking another job faster. Well, when I called them back to ask them to come back by and resolve the issues noted above, I got a very friendly and nice reply from Steve (owner), saying they were very busy but he would call me in a couple days to schedule a time to come out. Fine...a few days goes by, a couple weeks go by, nothing. I call Steve back and he profusely apologized, saying he was actually just pulling my paperwork when I called (yeah right). He said to expect a call by the end of the week to schedule their visit. It has been weeks and no word from Steve. At this point I am writing it off to the fact that they got paid, and since they got their money they no longer care. I understand, Steve, that you are busy and you've already gotten all the money you'll EVER get out of me, but this is no way to treat customers. No referrals and no recommendations will ever come your way from me. Do not call me or contact me to resolve this issue, we are done. BUYER BEWARE.

I had Steve from AZ Wood Renovations come out on 1/20/2016 & he gave me an estimated to refinished my master bath cabinets. The work was complete on 1/30/2016. About two weeks after I noticed a spot on one of the cabinets where the finish came off. I contacted Steve and he said he would contact to set a date to fix the problem. I have called him at least 3 times since, he promises he hasn't forgot me, however I still don't have a time when he is coming to fix the problems. I have been very patient. I would really like to have this problem fixed asap. Rosemary Justus

I would confidently recommend Arizona Wood Renovations to any one considering a kitchen remodel and/or updating. Our home was built in the 1970's and had the original wooden cabinets. After decades of wear, they were very functional but dated and tired looking. In one day, Steve and his crew removed the built-up grime and provided a finish that brought out the original beauty of the wood. Steve provided helpful suggestions in using updated hardware to enhance the look of the entire kitchen. The work was completed and the clean-up was thorough. GREAT JOB!

This company was so helpful with working with me ( I work out of town and no normal schedule) they were quick to accommodate for quote meeting and totally worked with me to fit into my super tight time frame to complete job. Top it all off I got GREAT quality and BEAUTIFUL cabinets in kitchen and bathrooms refinished and a great price. I totally recommend this company and their professional and polite workers too.

My kitchen cabinets came out great. It was painted an antique white and distressed. They did a beautiful job. Ken was very patient as I made a couple of color changes, bringing me samples of the finished look before expecting me to make a decision. I recommended him since to another person who used him as well. Couldn't be happier:-)

The company was professional in every way from the bidding process to the completed product. We had excellent communication prior to and during the resurfacing of our kitchen cabinets. The outcome is superb.
