My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

About Us

Armitage Interiors is an interior design and renovation studio in Bucks County, PA. Founded in 2013 and run by a wife and husband team from a historic farm in Blooming Glen, we balance heirloom quality design and construction with modern functionality. Emeline Tinsman, Allied ASID, holds a degree in Interior Design from Philadelphia University and honed her luxury practice at Michele Plachter Design, with work in Old City's historic homes, Main Line villas, and Center City apartments. She specializes in placing contemporary elements in a historical context, and in custom millwork and cabinetry that reads as though it was always part of the architecture. Cody Jones is a carpenter and craftsman who worked for George Nakashima Woodworker, where he restored the experimental architecture of the Nakashima compound in partnership with the Nakashima Foundation for Peace and the World Monuments Fund. That grounding in historical conservation informs every renovation we take on. He has also built and installed custom cabinetry and built-ins throughout Greater Philadelphia. Design and construction are not separate phases handed between teams here. They are two sides of one process, guided by the same people from the first conversation to the final walkthrough. Services include kitchen remodeling and kitchen design, whole home renovation, interior design, bathroom remodeling and bathroom design, home additions, historic restoration and building conservation, lower level renovations, guest and pool houses, custom cabinetry and built-ins, space planning, and lighting design. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our experience renovating our office with Armitage Interiors. It was especially rewarding to find a local Bucks County team with such strong ties to the community—and they proved to be every bit as talented and dedicated as we had hoped. From the very beginning, Emeline made the design process a pleasure. She was extremely thorough, thoughtful, and patient, taking the time to understand exactly what we wanted and making sure we were completely comfortable with the design before construction began. She remained involved throughout the entire project, helping us navigate any changes, adjustments, or last-minute decisions along the way. Having her there from start to finish gave us tremendous confidence that the final result would stay true to the vision we had created together. On the construction side, Cody, his foreman Tim, and the entire team did a fantastic job. Their attention to detail was second to none, and their professionalism and craftsmanship really stood out. Our project came with some unique challenges, particularly with the limitations of the space and our timeline, but they tackled every obstacle head-on and found solutions that kept the project moving and the quality high. What impressed us most was how much everyone genuinely cared about getting the details right. They consistently went above and beyond, and the finished office turned out even better than we expected. We are incredibly happy with the final result and would highly recommend Armitage Interiors, and their team to anyone looking for a talented, reliable, and genuinely invested local renovation team!

I had been talking about getting kitchen renovated for 15 years. 2 of my neighbors had just used Armitage interiors with spectacular results. I decided to get a quote. I know you should get 3 quotes especially if gutting an entire kitchen, but I liked the design and Emeline made the process of choosing cabinets, doors, appliances, windows so easy. She designed a beautiful streamlined kitchen for my space that was implemented perfectly by Cody and his team. Emeline also updated a powder room that was so unique which I never could have done on my own. I work from home and team was so professional and easy to talk to. I missed seeing everyone when the project was over. 5 stars out of 5. I highly recommend Armitage Interiors for all of your home improvements.

My wife and I have worked with Armitage Interiors for years at this point. They helped renovate our 1920s era poolhouse as well as the upper floor of our 1800s farmhouse. We had an outstanding experience with them on both projects! From the very beginning, Emmeline, Cody, and the team were incredibly professional, attentive, and easy to communicate with. What really stood out was their ability to understand and bring my wife and my (in some cases idiosyncratic) vision to life. They made the entire process seamless, keeping us informed every step of the way and responding promptly to any questions or issues. We couldn’t be happier with the results in both quality and value and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a design-build team that combines creativity, professionalism, and exceptional quality.

Emma and Cody have helped with multiple projects in are farm house. Emma came up with a cohesive design for two bathrooms and a master bedroom. The suggested fixtures for the bathrooms fit our style and that of a farm house. The closet builtins gave us the space we needed in the bathroom and bedroom. The tradesmen were very professional and courteous during the renovation.

I saw a post by Armitage Designs on Linked In. I was struck by the beautiful color of the couch and the inviting space created in the room. I worked with Emeline and Natalie on a small renovation project for our family room. They were quick to respond, always on time, bringing out a variety of swatches to custom build a sectional couch as well as window treatments. They listened to my ideas, never forcing theirs but also encouraging my vision to jump out of my comfort zone. They were cognizant of our budget and simply a pleasure to work with. I am thrilled with the results, and it helped create a jumping off point to renovate our family room. Well done!

Easy to work with and very responsive. Great advice on how to turn my vision into reality for my dining room. Emma was able to quickly whittle down my paint options to match my plan, and gave great suggestions on curtain rods. Also ordered sconces for me. They are beautiful and pull the room together. And within my budget. Would definitely recommend!

Emeline and Cody and the entire Armitage team did an amazing job on my partial remodel project and I cannot wait to work with them in the future on updating the rest of my home. I recommend Cody and Emeline to everyone I know. They did a phenomenal job transforming an old attic space into a loft-style bedroom for our teenage daughter. We were completely stumped about how to solve an issue with our staircase, but Emeline immediately knew the right approach. Cody and his team showed up at our home every day, right on schedule, sticking exactly to their quoted start and finish times. The project was completed within the six-week timeframe they outlined during our first meeting. We can’t say enough good things about them — as craftsmen, designers, and small business owners. We worked with Nathalie and Emelie from Armitage Interiors for a re-design of the kitchen in an investment property that we purchased. They accommodated our short schedule. From she entered the home, Emeline had great ideas of how to create an open concept design from both architectuall and interior design perspectives. They created a floor plan, list of needed cabinetry, and design and shopping suggestions. These were very helpful to our contractor. I highly recommend their services and we would definitely use them again.

We hired Cody and Em to convert our attic into a fourth bedroom for our family, and they were incredible from start to finish! Professional, tidy, detail-oriented, and excellent communicators throughout the entire process. We recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone who asks. If you have any hesitation, don’t — they truly are the best.
