I want to thank Douglas Maah’s and his team of workers for the fantastic kitchen remodel they did in my Santa Fe home. DMC came highly recommended to me and even though I could not be there during the completion of the project I knew I was in good hands as they kept in constant communication with me. We recently completed an extensive remodel project with DMC - 2 complete bathroom remodels, a master closet, redefining walls/spaces (creating an en suite guest room from a once separate bedroom/bathroom). Douglas and Aviva Baumann (our project manager) had excellent design suggestions throughout the process. We had some hiccups along the way, but that is to be expected with any major project - especially during Covid when deliveries were so delayed. Whenever there was an issue, Douglas/Aviva dealt with it immediately and fairly. We were very impressed with the quality of work done by the DMC team - everyone was prompt, responsive, professional, and safe. His in house cabinetry and plumbing/electrical guys are great. The framing/drywall team was amazingly fast and complete in their work. And a special note of recognition to Andrew of Counter Intelligence/H and S Craftsmen. He finalized our master closet design and made so many excellent and thoughtful suggestions that really took it to the next level. We are very happy with the final result and would highly recommend DMC. (In fact, this is our second major project with Douglas, having done a kitchen remodel in 2017.)

In the remodel of a 1919 house in Albuquerque, New Mexico, I had the good fortunate of working with Douglas Maahs for our kitchen and bathrooms cabinets. Not only did he delivered quality cabinetry, but he stood behind it as well. When a disaster from an "automatic" faucet which decided to turn itself on in the early morning, Douglas went beyond and above to ensure a quality replacement. It is a pleasure working with someone smart and ethical.

Working with Douglas was a delightful experience - a description not often applied to either contractors or remodeling. He did a complete kitchen remodel for us: all new cabinets, lighting, appliances, countertops, backsplash tiling, new island, and a hood that required punching out through the roof. The work was done on time and within budget. I have never worked with someone who is as professional, responsive, and client centered. He communicates clearly and directly and he had excellent design ideas throughout the process. His crew was great, and they clearly enjoy working with him. Douglas has our highest possible recommendation and we look forward to working with him again on other projects.

Douglas Maahs transformed our kitchen from a dated 80's to a beautiful contemporary. From design, demo, organization, to completion, Douglas and his team were professional, knowledgeable, punctual, dependable, and so pleasant to work with. This was our first big house project, and it was Douglas Maahs' community reputation that was the deciding factor to choose DMC construction for our complete kitchen remodel. As with all big projects, there are many parts, and DMC construction walked us through every step, professionally and with an experienced eye for design. With DMC's expertise, our dated Santa Fe kitchen is now a contemporary beauty that blends perfectly with our pueblo-style home. Only Doug and his team could have made this all come together.

DMC did a whole house remodel for us and we are thrilled with the result. The project was completed on time and Douglas, his crew and all of the subs were excellent—friendly, reliable, highly-skilled, and so very easy to work with. My husband and I were directly involved in the process and were always met with professionalism and respect. DMC worked with our architect, followed the design plans and presented creative solutions or recommendations whenever unexpected issues came up—and they certainly did! Douglas offered great ideas for finishes and provided resources for fixtures and other materials. He was very reliable, had immense patience during the stressful times and always kept the lines of communication open. We knew that our overall satisfaction was always at the forefront of his mind. We are very pleased with our house transformation!

Our gut remodel of a dated kitchen in a 68-year-old house in Santa Fe began with interviews of two architects and three contractors. We knew we wanted to open the space by removing most of the wall between the dining room and kitchen and expanding the opening into the family room on the other side. Also, we wanted the existing floor taken right down to the joists to level it properly. This was a job too big for us to supervise; we wanted a firm that would take care of every detail. We chose Douglas Maahs and D Maahs Construction partly because of his well-established reputation in Santa Fe but also because of his calm assurance and straightforward estimates of costs and time to complete the job. We had endured two other kitchen renovations in the past and were a tad skeptical when Douglas said the job would take a month. (Yeah, we said to ourselves, make that two, maybe three.) But apart from a few minor adjustments to be finished next week, his crews wrapped it up in 33 days, from demolition to beautiful cabinets and counters. Bravo! Speaking of the crews, they were extremely professional and dedicated, easy to have around even when the house is in chaos with such a major project.

Doug is great to work with. As a home designer in business for 20+ years, I found Doug and his crew to be professional on many levels. From communications, accurate costing and estimates thorough construction and completion, very reliable. In the initial interview, Doug pointed out cost saving methods without sacrificing the design intent. The sub contractors were on time and qualified on many levels. The projects that I have worked with Doug, costs came in right as quoted. The few changes were easy and fairly priced. We knew we were in great hands from the day we met with Douglas, he is exceptional in both his professional skills as well as his sincere desire for his clients to be happy. With DMC the clients happiness is the highest priority and that is evident through the entire process. We removed two load bearing walls in our kitchen to open up the entire living space and completely remodeled the kitchen. We are in love with our home renovation and the amazing transformation of not only our home, but how we live in it. The before and after is absolutely stunning (it looks like it is out of a magazine). We have to also recognize the amazing craftsmanship of our entire remodel team, they were the best set of professionals we have ever worked with and truly are second to none. We got to know our entire team throughout the project and they are individuals that we trusted in our home and with our home. DMC is a "dream team" of professional and there are no words to describe how thankful and fortunate we are to have worked with them. Each step of the way from picking cabinets to installing back splash tile, and hanging lighting they made sure I was consulted and involved in the project. They made modifications to help me personalize the space (for example they built out the base of our island so it did not have a toe kick and looked more like a piece of furniture). Each team made recommendations for use in our home (Bryan suggested a hidden switch in the island for the lighting over the island). I have already recommended DMC to several friends and will continue to recommend them to anyone who is in need of an outstanding contractor in the Santa Fe area.
