Little Star Renovations

We hired Little Star for a full condo renovation. From the beginning to the very end of the process, they were very communicative, clear, and collaborative. Renovations are inherently stressful, but Little Star worked to resolve any issues that came up promptly, thus providing us with peace of mind during the process. We would recommend Little Star to anyone. We are very happy with how our condo turned out and are enjoying it very much!

We recently worked with Little Star on a condo kitchen and bathroom renovation. From the very beginning, Little Star was both patient and supportive throughout the entire experience. This being our first renovation project, we admittedly had plenty of questions for which Little Star not only addressed, but also often provided additional guidance or solutions. Process wise, everything was very transparent and well documented, from the agreed upon project budget and timeline, to the responsibility of each party member. Unfortunately, not long after the project began, the COVID-19 pandemic provided a new set of unforeseen issues. Despite the challenging circumstance we continued to feel supported, with frequent updates on any impact this may have on our project. Jobie, Sam, Ian, and Pip, were a pleasure to deal with. Any issues were dealt with on a timely matter with a high level of professionalism. Little Star was FANTASTIC. Everyone I worked with directly -- Jobie, Sam, Ian -- was friendly, professional, and prompt. They did exactly what they said they were going to do, when they said they were going to do it -- and they did it beautifully. I was not in town for the renovations, but had complete confidence in the work they were doing. My confidence was obviously well-founded: they couldn't have done a better job. My wife and I live in the Mount Seymour neighbourhood of North Vancouver, and we hired Littlestar to complete renovations on our kitchen. We were very pleased with the quality of the work. The renovations were completed quickly, on budget and with a minimum of disruption. Littlestar were excellent communicators and hired skilled trades (electrician, plumber, cabinetry etc). Just as winter was coming on in 2017, we bought a well-laid out but battered 20 year-old condo to begin our downsizing process after 35 years in a heritage home. Jobie was the first contractor not to blanch at the size of the job – rip out both bathrooms and the kitchen and completely redesign them, replace all the flooring, remove the spackle from the ceilings, and build floor to ceiling bookcases throughout. And he was brimming with creative ideas that we would never have come to on our own. Of course there were glitches and yes, the work ran months overtime, but the outstanding artisanship of Dave Arnold, and his team, responsible for creating all the millwork we requested, and Paul Van Bavel, whose tile work in the kitchen, bathrooms and the floor to ceiling fireplace surround are beautiful beyond belief, prevent me from dwelling on them. I open my eyes on beauty every day. Sam, our site manager (and his highly efficient assistant, Ian) is a wonder of charisma, energy and enthusiasm, moving swiftly to correct the occasional imperfections that have revealed themselves over the months since we moved in. During the construction itself, he was everywhere at once, ever-smiling, calm and professional, soothing our worries and charming our condo neighbors to be. The creation of our beautiful, much smaller new home, is 5-star work in my estimation.

We could not have been more pleased about our experience with Little Star Renovations. They were prompt and reliable. When they made appointments and set dates, they kept them. The design work and their suggestions were inspirational. The workmanship was excellent. They kept the work place tidy so we could live comfortably while the work was done. There was clear communication about cost changes when the design was modified. The final product still makes us giggle with pleasure when we look at it! They are just a fun, very professional group of folks that I would not hesitate to use again and highly recommend.

Little Star was great to work with. The design ideas were creative. The work was excellent. The people have integrity. I am not saying there weren't issues,every reno has issues at some point. What matters is how they handled them, and they handled them with integrity. Highly Recommended!

We completed a main floor kitchen/dining/living room renovation on our 100+ year old house with Little Star. We really enjoyed working with our PM, Sam. His oversight was very effective and he managed the trades very efficiently. The sub-contractors at E2 Painting and Norum Construction were so lovely to work with as well. For us, we knew there were many companies out there who could do the work. The most important thing is communication and ease to work with. All of the people we came in contact with through the course of the renovation were just nice people - a huge plus in my books. For the most part, this pretty complex renovation went smoothly. There were many surprises that came up, but I'm not sure they could have been anticipated given the age of our home. When issues did arise, Sam was quick to communicate with us and provide options for course correction. After completion of the renovation, we noticed a few things that we had missed in the walk through, and Little Star was quick to get the right people back to touch up the minor defects. I would definitely recommend Jobie's company to friends and family. We hope to work with Little Star again on future projects in our home. Great work, team :)

Choosing a dependable reliable trustworthy contractor is not always so easy these days. Little Star Renovations was one of the recommended companies during my search. I met with Jobie MALLET on a couple of occasions to gather information prior to making my decision on who I would hire to do my renovations. The meetings were informative, and at no time did I feel pressured to make a quick decision. In the end I did decide to hire Little Star Renovations. We put in place a 12 week timeline for the project. The renovation project overall went well. When a problem did arise, it was handled in a professional manner and with my input. I was always listened to and the company acted on my judgments. The communications with my lead project manager, Sam and assistant Pip were excellent over the entire period of the project. One area I would suggest being “tightened up”, is the oversight on the work being completed by the sub-contractors. Little Star takes full responsibility for the work performed by the sub-contractors, however, more oversight during the time the sub-contractors are doing their work would reduce the amount of time correcting errors and/or preventing them at all. I am very pleased to say the project did complete on time and looks beautiful. I love my new space and would recommend Little Star to friends, co-workers and family members. May rating would be 4 1/2 stars but did not know how to check off half a star.

We utilized Little Star Renovations for the electrical component of our home renovation. Work quality was excellent - Victor was very professional and went above and beyond to ensure our project deadline was met through organizing the roughed in and final inspections personally!! We highly recommend this company!!

Little Star did two renovations for us. The work looked better than we imagined. Jobie's company did extras past fix a leak in that they insulated a wall that didn't have any insulation to begin with. As well, the door that was installed ended up fitting perfectly with the room. I would recommend them to anyone. The workmen explained what they were doing and were very helpful. The other renovation was a strata project. They replaced the deck and railings we have in common. The work took a long time but the finished project looked lovely.
