Northern Woodworking has been awesome to work with. The quality of the work is exceptional and the service the same. Pat, Melissa and Melissa helped guide us through the design and execution process. They made recommendations to save us money and worked through design aspects that we wanted to change as the project came together. I would strongly recommend them to anybody. Everyone that has seen our basement has been thoroughly impressed. Additionally, everybody who worked at our house were incredibly professional and nice. We have two boys that “supervised” and everybody they interacted with engaged with them and explained what they were doing. The only reason I’m sad our project is done is because we don’t get to interact with the Northern Woodworking team. We have plans to add a covered deck with Northern Woodworking in the future and can’t wait to work with them again on that project.

After the sales cycle, the lack of communication, coordination and care demonstrated on our project has been so disappointing. As a customer, we made timely selections and have acted in good faith, including making payments for segments of the project not totally complete. In return, we started an agreed-upon 3-4 month project in July 2018. As of today, the project remains incomplete. Patrick Miller of Northern Woodworking has not returned phone messages or emails for well over two months. He maintained little or no presence on the project - typically would send subs over with little or no notice. Cabinets paid for and hung over 4 months ago remain without any hardware. The bathroom was tiled with niche shelves that are crooked and couldn’t hold a bar of soap. Overall, the quality of work is below average to average at best. The level of communication, coordination and care is terrible for whatever reason.... no project should ever be this painful and difficult and no customer should be subject to such a lack of professionalism and ethics.

I cannot recommend using Northen Woodworking. While the quality of the work is satisfactory, in my opinion, it was not worth the time and aggravation of chasing them around in order to complete the projects. While bidding on the project, they were responsive and and full of great ideas. However, once the projects started, I could not get them to return my calls or complete the work in a timely fashion. At one point I had to threaten getting my attorney involved in order to get them to call me back. There were several excuses as to why they had to keep pushing my job back. At this point, it has been over 6 months and my projects are stilll not completed and they cannot even give me an estimate as to when they will complete them. They were supposed to be completed in 6 weeks! It is clear to me that they have abandoned my project, leaving me to start the process over. As a busy professional with an active family, this process was extremely aggravating and frustrating, leaving us in a constant state of construction and uncertainty. I have never been treated so poorly.

The Northern Woodworking team was very professional and produced high quality work. They worked with us to find a design to make the most of our small space and helped us to stay within budget. We love our new movie room!

They brought a number of skill sets to the process that helped us think through what we wanted to do. They were patient in letting us absorb the ideas and then refine them in a collabrative manner. They were excellent at solving problems that came up over the cousre of the projects. The add on work that we requested was reasonably priced. All the folks involved were pleasant to deal with and highly professional. The work site was kept clean thorughout the projects. We feel like we have a new home.

Northern Woodworking was very professional and did a fabulous job on our basement project. They finished the job on time and on budget. We would definitely use them again!

Even though I have yet to hire Northern Woodworking directly, I have been taking pictures of their custom builds for a couple of years now, which has provided me with a unique opportunity to meet many of their clients, giving me a truly intimate look into so much of what they are capable of doing. Their attention to both detail and customer service is evident in their work and in the overjoyed clients that I’ve met. It seems that when one household within a neighborhood hires them, it’s only a matter of time before the neighbors are all vying to have Northern Woodworking create a custom creation for them, as well! Their meticulous attention to detail and the ability to understand and execute exactly what their client is thinking is undeniable. Everyone in their team takes the time to make sure the job is done right and is made to last. They are of a dying mindset, still providing quality over quantity — artisan builders. I believe that I have the most unique perspective of anyone that has worked with Northern Woodworking because I have seen everything from a fireplace installation to full basement remodels, that are always the ultimate in style and perfection. I don’t think there’s any end to Miller’s imagination and incredible aptitude to make anything happen! To have a the skilled team to back that up, executing precisely and bringing dreams to fruition is a combination that’s incredibly rare! I would highly recommend this company a thousand times over and hope to utilize them myself one day soon!

We hired this company for a complete kitchen remodel based on the recommendation of our neighbors. We were thrilled with the results. The quality of the cabinets and woodworking were excellent, and all of the subcontractors were very professional and easy to deal with. Whenever we had a question or request, someone returned my call or text within a day - usually much sooner. There is a full-time designer on the staff who can help guide you with style decisions - this is extremely useful when you are coordinating counters, paint colors, backsplash, cabinet color/style, flooring, and lighting/furniture. I would use this company for my next project in a heartbeat!
