We hired Adam and his team about six months ago to do a fairly significant rehaul of our landscaping. During the previous year, we had engaged a housing contractor to add a bedroom suite and car garage to our house, which caused some unexpected and significant disruption to our yard. In addition to repairing the actual landscape, we needed new fencing and retaining walls; and, while we were at it, we opted for some irrigation as well.
Adam and his team were a rare and very welcome find. Among many accolades, I would summarize his work as follows:
•Very reasonably priced. Not only did Adam have fair rates in comparison to other bids, he never once up-charged. In fact, numerous time he suggested we aim for a more economical solution and he ended up saving us thousands of dollars with his advice.
•Super frequently it felt like he was advising us as if he was working on his own home. For example, he offered less costly alternatives to fencing that looked better than the option we proposed, and he suggested we use seed instead of sod for certain areas of the house (which was not only financially beneficial but also much more easily taken care of during the winter months).
•Additionally, he was incredibly thoughtful in his work. For example, our front porch evidently has an odd drain that funnels all water to one spot in our lawn. Adam showed me the area and offered a very easy solution to make sure that we didn’t lose plants inadvertently, while also preventing unwarranted water drainage.
•Adam and his team offer landscape consulting services. We used a landscape architect before we were aware of Adam’s services; but, in working with him, his design aesthetic was spot on and he always politely and kindly offered advice when it was offered.
•Adam has a loyal team that has worked with him for years and who are great to work with. Adam in particular has a fantastic attitude and is more accessible than any one I’ve ever worked with. This was also super helpful in that he was very cognizant of our neighbors and worked hard to ensure as nonintrusive an experience as possible for them as well.
•He truly owns his work. After our project was complete, he came over to provide a temporary sprinkler to our new lawn because he was concerned that the few days of good Seattle winter weather might dry out the grass. A couple months later, we were hit with Seattle’s most random snow storm, and he made a point to come over again and ensure a very large, favored, old rhododendron of mine was solidly in place despite the 10 feet of snow that unexpectedly covered it.
•And lastly, he met deadlines! He started literally on the day he promised. And he would have ended on the day he promised had we not requested more services from him because we appreciated his work product and advice so much that we ended up adding on to the scope. Regardless, the whole project went much more quickly than we expected.
Our whole experience with Adam and PLC was wonderful, and the end result was even better than we had envisioned or hoped. I would recommend Adam in an instant and would be happy to address any questions.
