Michael Herkert and his UMI team has done three projects at my home a deck, a kitchen remodel and fixing the outcome from a furnace malfunction. I highly recommend UMI. They did an excellent job. Every aspect of each job was done with quality and the utmost care. The workers showed up on time and were always respectful. If any concerns arose either during or after construction they were resolved quickly and to my complete satisfaction. Communication was excellent both with workers and UMI’s office staff. Calls and e-mails were answered promptly. I have used many contractors, being a home owner for 50 years and Michael Herkert and UMI are simply the best.

Mike and the UMI team worked on my deck renovation and did an excellent job. There were significant issues with the previous deck and they clearly explained the details of work to be put in and even when additional damages were noticed, they documented and confirmed with me on how to move forward. They provided with various estimates that helped me make a decision on what to get for our new deck. Additionally they also worked on some minor electrical work inside the house and garage wall installation that required some additional fixes. Would recommend them for your next house project.

I was warned that its never "just" a bathroom remodel. That there will always be something that shows up. Boy howdy! Im very glad I went with UMI. The things that showed up were real issues (that I had an idea were problematic ahead of time). But these guys really helped me understand how much of an issue they were. FYI my home is 1920's, DIY, old school, old man remodles and "upgrades". It was obvious now was the time to tackle it. Mike was very upfront and honest with me. He worked with me. He explained the situation. I never felt pressured into doing more than I felt comfortable doing. His guys were on time, professional and worked fast with quality and attention to detail. Is my home 100%? No, but when it comes time to continue on renovations, I will be calling them back. I really enjoyed working with everyone and I couldn't be happier with all the work that was done. Honestly what a great team. From the project walk through with Michael who spoke to me like family. Pointing out things that made sense not to up sell me and just genuinely thinking of the complete picture. Willing to fight to make sure the job wasn't fixed but done the right way. Communication was absolutely incredible I felt part of every step. When repairs started I was introduced to an incredible duo Jesus and Omar. They both were very kind and professional making me feel like my project really mattered. We are truly obsessed with our bathroom remodel, way better than I could have imagined it. My expectations were very much exceeded. They went above and beyond with my project and a little extra. I highly recommend them to any project especially if you want it done right!

Great work! Our project was a group of jobs done on an older (60+) house. Included were: partial exterior siding replacement & weatherproofing; complete plumbing system replacement; bathroom remodel; and finish carpentry. UMI provided licensed experts to perform all required plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work. Written estimates and change orders were provided for each phase of the job. Charges for the work matched the estimates. There were no surprises. When the project was completed, UMI removed all trash and surplus materials. We are very pleased with the quality of the work. We will call UMI to perform any future projects we have. We highly recommend UMI for their great quality work, reasonable prices, and their honesty.

UMI did a full basement remodel for our home and now just did a main bathroom remodel and custom shelves in our bedroom. Like always we are very pleased with the high quality work they do. Not only are they extremely knowledgeable how to properly work on your house (we've had bad experiences with other contractors in the past) but they also have high standards for making sure the work is done properly and will last a long time. I highly recommend them for any work you are trying to have done on your house!

Working with the UMI Group has been an incredible experience from start to finish. They provided fair and reasonable quotes and took care of everything, including repairing our drywall after the pipes were replaced, so the process was stress-free and efficient. The UMI team genuinely feels like family. We trust them completely and will always call them first for any future project or home need. Highly recommended.

Being a homeowner in Seattle for 10 years, I have hired various contractors for various projects. But when I met Michael of UMI Seattle, I knew I had found THE general contractor to hire! My latest project was a pretty good sized renovation, including two full bath remodels, a balcony redesign/rebuild, and a new roof. UMI Seattle was able to begin the project quickly, and the constant oversight and awesome communication from Michael and the project managers kept the project moving along every step of the way. All of the workers, including UMI Seattle employees and the subcontractors hired for particular trades, were top notch skilled professionals, their attention to detail was incredible, and the house was kept super clean every day from start to finish. I first used UMI to fix some mistakes another contractor made. After that they've been the only people in the business I trust to work on my home. They are reliable, fair, easy to communicate with and give accurate timelines.

I wholeheartedly recommend UMI Seattle as an excellent general contractor. UMI came to my aid when I bought a house near Seattle that revealed some substantial carpenter ant damage during remodeling. It was UMI's work that made the house sound again and had it looking as good as new. Moreover, during the work, UMI owners suggested and accomplished some yard topography changes that had a big impact on drainage and helped me create a much more picturesque landscape. I have recently arranged for them to do some electrical alterations in the laundry room this summer because I trust their quality and commitment to every task.

My project was a small (300 sq ft) remodel that was complicated by the need to relocate utilities. This was completed skillfully and in a reasonable time. I would recommend UMI for quality of work and supervision of subcontractors (plumber, electrician, etc.).

We had a great experience with UMI! They did a fantastic job remodeling our basement and building a porch in the front of our house. Everyone there is very responsive and responsible. You couldnt ask for a better group to work with!

The work done by UMI on my little 1941 craftsman house was first rate. Not only was Michael able to suggest cosmetic improvements, but he was invaluable pointing out the structural and foundational issues that I needed to address. Michael and his office staff were always willing to take my calls and deal with my concerns. The crew that did the work on my house was exceptional. I was not only impressed with their skills, but thankful for their impressive work ethic they demanded of themselves and the pride they wanted in their finished product.

UMI did a complete remodel of my basement following a waterproofing project. Due to some miscommunication we had a late start but once we began things went very well. I was impressed with the project managers and the sub contractors. Workers showed up when expected and did quality work. Mike was always available to answer questions and take care of any concerns. The family room is now my favorite room in the house!

On top of a superb job well done, you could not receive more personalized and thoughtful attention from a contractor than Michael and Deana at Urban Maintenance! With continuous attention to detail and finish, they helped transform a vision into incredible reality. For example, Deana personally created a custom quash wall color and finish that we had previously tried hard to find. Both were responsive and timely - that in some cases, exceeded expectations. Just like the finished product - a custom built-in, self-cooled wine cellar on our downtown two bedroom condo...

We recently moved into a new constructed Townhouse. As with any new or old homes there may be things a new owner would like changed or added. The builder recommended Urban Maintenance Inc. (UMI) to make the changes we needed such as putting track lighting in the kitchen to increase the lighting over the counter and the sink, remove the soaking tub in the bathroom and install a tiled walk in shower, install wall convection heaters in both bathrooms (fantastic), install a remote front door system to view, talk and unlock the front door from the 2nd and 3rd floors. Their work was neat and clean using tarps and coverings to protect floors and counter tops. I doubt that one can find any dirty wori than cutting up a soaking tub. All the workers were polite and courteous. A grrrrrrr8 crew!!!! All the work was accompished on time. Michael, Sam and Deana (2nd "a" is silent) were a pleasure to work with Michael, General Contractor, doing the design, Sam doing the ordering and Deana doing the scheduling. When Deana gave a time the workers would be at the house they were at the house at that time. One could not find a better team. Everything went like clock work and the cost was more than reasonable. We had a very dated bathroom that is 50sq.ft. We now have a very deluxe bathroom that is a result of Urban Maintenance and all sub trades excellent work in a tight space. Colton did a great job cutting a hole through our closet floor for easier access into our crawl space. He framed it all in underneath and trimmed the cut floor nicely. Very nice and professional young man.

We hired UMI to remodel several rooms in our home. We had a drainage issue which required that we rip out an old bathroom, laundry room and basement. UMI coordinated everything. The bathroom looks great. My new laundry room is awesome. We converted a basement to a finished music room and it looks great. The UMI staff were really responsive by text, email or phone. I received timely project timeline updates. The subcontractors were all knowledgeable, tidy, and polite. There were very few gaps between contractors and the project was finished quickly. I would definitely work with UMI again, they are a great company.

Urban Maintenance did a wonderful job from start to finish. They installed & painted baseboards in our lounge & hallway. Everyone involved in the project was professional, friendly & courteous. The job was done on budget & earlier than estimated. Very impressed & will hire again for my next projects.

Provided good follow up when the job was done. His price is reasonable and transparent. I highly recommend him for any remodeling job, big or small.

I was left in the lurch by my previous gc, and desperately needed some help with painting and hardwood installation that he refused to supply/ arrange. Deana and crew stepped in and saved me, and what's more were AWESOME with communication, responding with texts or emails right away, keeping me in the loop, working hard to finish quickly and being super flexible and innovative with solving problems. I only wish I had known to hire them for the whole project!!! Would hire them in a flash again and recommend them without reservation to anyone needing work done.

A group of skilled professionals assembled an office with cabinets and panels bought by the home owner. The panels became a desk. Additionally, a "fake" fireplace was removed, the flooring under it matched to the rest of the floor, the wall patched, and a large monitor and sound bar mounted. Each professional worked well with the home owner, showed up when they said they would, and were very knowledgeable about their particular trade.

Very dependable. On time and budget. Excellent worksmanship with attention to details. We have used them for years. Would recommend to anyone.

Our first engagement with Urban Maintenance was based on a recommendation from our house painter and it was to have a major repair/re-install of french doors and door frame to our house. The bid was inline with others we had received, the work was done professionally, on time, and within budget. The comforting part was that Deana and Michael walked us through what would happen, when it would happen, and why it needed to happen, before any work began. There were no surprises. We called Urban Maintenance again for an even larger job shortly after our first experience. This was to refinish the wood floors throughout our house, and install matching wood (or as close as we could get) to an extended living room. We added baseboard updates throughout the house, and the removal of popcorn ceilings in 3 areas of the original home. No small effort, but again, the jobs were done on time and on budget! I have to give extra kudos, we had an absolute drop dead date for completion and Urban Maintenance met it! Having strangers in your home for any period of time can be "interesting", but the people involved in our jobs were personable, comfortable, and easy to have around--in fact, quite pleasant to have around. One last note: Urban Maintenance has proven themselves and for us, there simply isn't any reason to consider another company when we need any work done at our house.

Urban Maintenance painted the interior of our condo downtown. They were very professional. They exceeded our expectations. We will definitely call them the next time we need any service they provide.

Deana and Michael were highly recommended. We sought their services for bathroom remodels. They supplied us with a detailed budget that respected our budget guidelines. Deana and Michael were easy to work with even though most of our discussions had to be done by phone to our home in Wisconsin. Besides the phone consultations, Michael sent us phone pictures and videos to keep us current. Michael and Deana were very conscientious about our budget and would suggest ways to save money without sacrificing quality (instead of granite countertops, travertine marble was substituted at a 1/4 of the cost of granite) The people from Urban Maintenance, INC were a joy to work with on our bathrooms. They met all of our questions, recommendations, and needs with a positive attitude. We would recommend without question.
