The size of your home, the type of work you do and your preferred working style all impact where you’ll work from home. Setting up a laptop at the kitchen table allows some to get their work done while still interacting with the rest of the house, while others need a dedicated space to retreat to — even in another structure sometimes.
For interior designer Amy Mitchell of Home Glow Design, a dilapidated shed on her property proved to be the perfect place to set up her interior design business. Every morning she can “head off to work,” even though it’s only a few steps from her main house. In the evening, she can pack up and leave work behind when she “heads home” for the night.
