A young family moving from NYC tackled a lightning fast makeover of their new colonial revival home before the arrival of their second child. The kitchen area was quite spacious but needed a facelift and new layout. Painted cabinetry matched to Benjamin Moore’s Light Pewter is balanced by grey glazed rift oak cabinetry on the island. Shiplap paneling on the island and cabinet lend a slightly contemporary edge. White bronze hardware by Schaub & Co. in a contemporary bar shape offer clean lines with some texture in a warm metallic tone. White Marble countertops in “Alpine Mist” create a harmonious color palette while the pale blue/grey Waterworks backsplash adds a touch of color. Picture Perfect House
Kitchen - large transitional dark wood floor and brown floor kitchen idea in Chicago with white cabinets, white backsplash, porcelain backsplash, stainless steel appliances, an island, white countertops, quartzite countertops and shaker cabinets

The three-level Mediterranean revival home started as a 1930s summer cottage that expanded downward and upward over time. We used a clean, crisp white wall plaster with bronze hardware throughout the interiors to give the house continuity. A neutral color palette and minimalist furnishings create a sense of calm restraint. Subtle and nuanced textures and variations in tints add visual interest. The stair risers from the living room to the primary suite are hand-painted terra cotta tile in gray and off-white. We used the same tile resource in the kitchen for the island's toe kick.

Updating a recently built town home in culver city for a wonderful family was a very enjoyable project for us. a classic shaker kitchen with double row of upper cabinets due to the extra high ceiling. butcher block island with a sink as a work area. The centerpiece of it all is the amazing handmade Moroccan zellige tiles that were used as the backsplash. going all the way to the ceiling around the window area and finished off in the corners with a black matt Schluter corner system.
