Our homeowner purchased this home with a kitchen update in mind. Her cramped kitchen had a wall with a passthrough and countertop separating it from a family room, and she wanted an open floor plan for aesthetics and function. The space was re-designed with the purpose of relocating and reusing many of the current cabinets while building new ones where needed to match the existing. We tweaked appliance locations and installed a new island with prep sink and faucet. We built a floating custom circular table/eat-in area on the end of the island with a radius bulkhead to mimic the architectural curvature of the table. New lighting and plumbing fixtures were added with a modern white backsplash of various sized tile and a stainless vent hood. The finished result is a space that is reflective of her style with improved utilization of the space she has.

Best of Houzz 2016 Dining Room Design winner. The custom built-in banquette allowed the breakfast nook to seat 5 people comfortably and not encroach on the walking space. Custom dark wood cabinet houses breakfast dishes. Wood and marble look alike porcelain tiles set on the diagonal add interest to a large floor space. This open urban kitchen invites with pops of yellow and an eat in dining table. A highly functional, contemporary beauty featuring wide plank white oak grey stained floors, white lacquer refrigerator and washing machine, brushed aluminum lower cabinets and walnut upper cabinets. Pure white Caesarstone countertops, Blanco kitchen faucet and sink, Bertazzoni range, Bosch dishwasher, architectural lighting trough with LED lights, and Emtech brushed chrome door hardware complete the high-end look.

Part of the former kitchen, the bay window created a cozy place for a built in custom settee and table. Upholstered in soft leather and surrounded by windows, the booth accommodates casual family meals, homework, or curling up with a book in a sunny corner. Hidden, motorized shades protect diners from low, afternoon sun. The table, fabricated from the wooden beams once used to support barrels in an old winery, were transformed into a rustic, kid-proof table
