A custom handmade wall covering recalls historical canopy beds transforming the bed now to the scale of the space. Vancouver's Stanley Park provides the tonal inspiration set underneath a luminous gold sky.

Our team began the master bedroom design by anchoring the room with a dramatic but simple black canopy bed. The next layer was a neutral but textured area rug with a herringbone "zig zag" design that we repeated again in our throw pillows and nightstands. The light wood of the nightstands and woven window shades added subtle contrast and texture. Two seating areas provide ample comfort throughout the bedroom with a small sofa at the end of the bed and comfortable swivel chairs in front of the window. The long simple drapes are anchored by a simple black rod that repeats the black iron element of the canopy bed. The dresser is also black, which carries this color around the room. A black iron chandelier with wooden beads echoes the casually elegant design, while layers of cream bedding and a textural throw complete the design.

The Whitby Canopy Bed's clean design, classic finials and a contemporary iron frame create a bed with timeless style that pairs with any decor. Arching in the headboard, footboard and stretchers adds visual counterpoints to the canopy's straight lines, while the linen upholstery on the headboard and footboard provide soft, soothing accents.

White walls and bedding maximize the sunlight in the master bedroom, while bright pillows and a hide rug warm up the space.

Transitional medium tone wood floor and brown floor bedroom photo in Houston with white walls and a standard fireplace

The master bedroom of this South Carolina mountain home is swathed in natural light, beckoning its owners to rest and relax. Rich taupe moldings add depth, contrasting with the ivory plaster walls and ceiling. Punctuating the ceiling are exposed beams that have been stained to coordinate with the walnut-stained hardwoods that blanket the floors.
An iron bed stands on an Oushak rug in shades of vanilla and biscuit. Almond panels with eyelet detailing hang from the bed’s canopy and coordinate with the skirt. Bedding in white, cream and taupe is layered to create sumptuous texture. Flanking the bed are ebony chests with serpentine fronts. At its foot, a traditional bench with black Queen Anne legs is covered in a damask chenille. Antique brass lamps crowned with ecru shades have a filigree texture, adding to the room's feminine air. A convex mirror hangs above the bed, reflecting the light washing in through the ample windows and doors.
Suspended from bronze iron rods are sheer draperies embroidered with a floral pattern, allowing sunshine to filter through windows painted Sherwin Williams Black Fox. Woven blinds coordinate with the stain of the beams and control light and privacy. A lounge chair dressed in crisp off-white and trimmed with bronze nails is paired with a nickel side table

Inspired by a British campaign style antique, this queen iron canopy bed from Magnolia Homes' Traditional Collection has a clean-lined, sturdy character that will be the highlight of your room. Curved cathedral style corners on the head and foot panels add an extra style detail.
- Bed has round iron vertical posts with finials.
- Curved canopy frame joins with center circle.
- Head and footboard metal panels have curved corners.
- Includes headboard, footboard, canopy frame, rails, and slats.
- Metal is finished in a dark Blackened Bronze.
The beautiful Magnolia Home line was designed exclusively by Joanna Gaines to convey her fresh, unique design style that embodies her lifestyle of home and family. Each piece falls onto a specific genre: Boho, Farmhouse, French Inspired, Industrial, Primitive or Traditional. Painted finishes and wood stains are offered that replicate the look of age-worn vintage patinas.
This piece is part of her Traditional genre, which is today's interpretation of yesterday's timelessness. It blends traditional lines with unexpected flare. This style's details are familiar, but simplified and freshened with easygoing finishes.
