Drastic personality change for this Ann Arbor bathroom/ powder room - bringing it from the 1970’s to 2010’s. The porcelain wall was designed as a floor to ceiling backsplash around this modern sink - a Corian washplane that drains into the wall. A small 2nd floor laundry room was added to this 1910 home during a master suite addition. The linen closet (see painted white doors left) was double sided (peninsula tall pantry cabinet) to the master suite bathroom for ease of folding and storing bathroom towels. Stacked metal shelves held a laundry basket for each member of the household. A custom tile shower pan was installed to catch any potential leaks or plumbing issues that may occur down the road....and prevent ceiling damage in rooms beneath. The shelf above holds a steam generator for the walk in shower in the adjacent master bathroom.

Design ideas for a mid-sized contemporary partial sun backyard gravel vegetable garden landscape in San Francisco for spring.

Rainwater ran off the front yard, which is a septic field, toward the house. In addition, downspouts and non guttered roof lines compounded the problem. A dry creek bed was a great solution, both aesthetically and functionally. Aesthetically, it provides a focal point for the front garden.

The trellised terrace opens up to a quieter view of a magnificent existing redwood grove. A bluestone footbridge crosses a bioswale filled with clusters of ornamental grasses and perennials. This barrier free (curbless) shower was designed for easy access. The perfect solution for the elderly or anyone who wants to enter the shower without any issues. The dark gray concrete look floor tile extends uninterrupted into the shower. Satin nickel fixtures and a teak shower stool provide some contrast.
