Located in Whitefish, Montana near one of our nation’s most beautiful national parks, Glacier National Park, Great Northern Lodge was designed and constructed with a grandeur and timelessness that is rarely found in much of today’s fast paced construction practices. Influenced by the solid stacked masonry constructed for Sperry Chalet in Glacier National Park, Great Northern Lodge uniquely exemplifies Parkitecture style masonry. The owner had made a commitment to quality at the onset of the project and was adamant about designating stone as the most dominant material. The criteria for the stone selection was to be an indigenous stone that replicated the unique, maroon colored Sperry Chalet stone accompanied by a masculine scale. Great Northern Lodge incorporates centuries of gained knowledge on masonry construction with modern design and construction capabilities and will stand as one of northern Montana’s most distinguished structures for centuries to come.

This homage to prairie style architecture located at The Rim Golf Club in Payson, Arizona was designed for owner/builder/landscaper Tom Beck.
This home appears literally fastened to the site by way of both careful design as well as a lichen-loving organic material palatte. Forged from a weathering steel roof (aka Cor-Ten), hand-formed cedar beams, laser cut steel fasteners, and a rugged stacked stone veneer base, this home is the ideal northern Arizona getaway.
Expansive covered terraces offer views of the Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish designed golf course, the largest stand of Ponderosa Pines in the US, as well as the majestic Mogollon Rim and Stewart Mountains, making this an ideal place to beat the heat of the Valley of the Sun.
Designing a personal dwelling for a builder is always an honor for us. Thanks, Tom, for the opportunity to share your vision.

This project combines high end earthy elements with elegant, modern furnishings. We wanted to re invent the beach house concept and create an home which is not your typical coastal retreat. By combining stronger colors and textures, we gave the spaces a bolder and more permanent feel. Yet, as you travel through each room, you can't help but feel invited and at home.

This is an outdoor pavilion which houses a kitchen complete with sink, hot water, grill, side burner, fridge. All operated with LP Gas and the fire pit is connected as well. What fun!

Considering to add a Fire Pit to your outdoor living area?
What you should know….
For a built-in design Fire Pit, it’s necessary to match your design, size, style and materials with surrounding area (house, garden, pool ,…)
You can do a DYI job and assemble materials yourself but for a fully custom fire pit you need a landscape professional or contractor designing and building it.
Regardless of style you need to make sure the you are using proper stones and materials.
Do your homework before digging any hole, or consult with a landscape professional to find out the right location for your Fire pit, you might need to find out from your municipality that what is the minimum distance requirement from your home or neighbors’ yard.
You might even need a site inspection from local fire officials to help make sure proposed location is safe.
You can even enhance your enjoyment by installing outdoor lighting near the fire pit or considering a seating area like a low stone wall around the Fire pit. For best results it’s wise to consult a landscape professional regarding outdoor lighting installation and design, seating wall materials and dimensions and most importantly the proper distance between your designed Fire pit and seating wall for safety.
