Grennan Construction gave this Birmingham, MI home a fresh, modern look with the installation of James Hardie Board and Batten Siding from the Statement Collection. The exterior now features Cedarmill siding with Rough Sawn batten strips spaced 16” apart, creating a timeless board and batten design. To complement the siding, we used 8¼ Cedarmill horizontal lap siding and NT3 ColorPlus trim in Arctic White throughout, including all gables on the home and garage. This update not only enhances the home’s curb appeal but also adds the durability and low maintenance benefits of James Hardie Fiber Cement Siding.

Dawn Cromer photographer and homeowner. This modern farmhouse was custom built by Peak Builders, LLC, in central Virginia and completed 2015. Two separate architects contributed to the project, Andres F. Martinez founder of ARKE design-build, LLC, and Heath Wills founder of Heath Wills Home Designs, llc. Each worked closely with the homeowners, marrying their aim to fashion the home inside and out to have a farmhouse heart yet craftsman flare. The main house exterior features a mixture of board-and-batten and lap hardie siding painted Benjamin Moore White Dove (OC-17), while the garage is solely board-and-batten painted Benjamin Moore Caliente (AF-290).

Would you like to replicate the look of these shutters on your home? We can custom build your Board and Batten shutters!
These dark stained shutters have 2 battens, and the narrow vertical boards are about the width of the battens. The battens on the arched shutters are placed at the spring-line.
Sunbelt Shutter's battens are 3-1/2" wide, and the boards and battens are beveled 1/4” on edges. Battens are 1/2” from sides and 7” from top and bottoms of shutters.
Scroll tiebacks with lag mount are used to keep the shutters propped open.

Have Sunbelt Shutters replicate the look of these shutters on your home! We can custom build your Board and Batten shutters!
These opaque stained shutters have 2 battens, and the vertical boards are about the width of the battens.
Sunbelt Shutters' battens are 3-1/2" wide, and the boards and battens are beveled 1/4” on edges. Battens are 1/2” from sides and 7” from top and bottoms of shutters, except for small sizes for which they are 5”.
To mount the pintels to the window frame of a brick home, a minimum of a 2-1/4" Offset is needed. Scroll tiebacks with lag mount are used to keep the shutters propped open.

For this project, we replaced the home's vinyl siding. The new Arctic White fiber cement vertical siding gives the home a unique, modern look, especially when combined with the black window frames. This project came out stunning.

This large estate house was carefully crafted to compliment the rolling hillsides of the Midwest. Horizontal board & batten facades are sheltered by long runs of hipped roofs and are divided down the middle by the homes singular gabled wall. At the foyer, this gable takes the form of a classic three-part archway.
Going through the archway and into the interior, reveals a stunning see-through fireplace surround with raised natural stone hearth and rustic mantel beams. Subtle earth-toned wall colors, white trim, and natural wood floors serve as a perfect canvas to showcase patterned upholstery, black hardware, and colorful paintings. The kitchen and dining room occupies the space to the left of the foyer and living room and is connected to two garages through a more secluded mudroom and half bath. Off to the rear and adjacent to the kitchen is a screened porch that features a stone fireplace and stunning sunset views.
Occupying the space to the right of the living room and foyer is an understated master suite and spacious study featuring custom cabinets with diagonal bracing. The master bedroom’s en suite has a herringbone patterned marble floor, crisp white custom vanities, and access to a his and hers dressing area.
The four upstairs bedrooms are divided into pairs on either side of the living room balcony. Downstairs, the terraced landscaping exposes the family room and refreshment area to stunning views of the rear yard. The two remaining bedrooms in the lower level each have access to an en suite bathroom.

This 1970s ranch home in South East Denver was roasting in the summer and freezing in the winter. It was also time to replace the wood composite siding throughout the home. Since Colorado Siding Repair was planning to remove and replace all the siding, we proposed that we install OSB underlayment and insulation under the new siding to improve it’s heating and cooling throughout the year.
After we addressed the insulation of their home, we installed James Hardie ColorPlus® fiber cement siding in Grey Slate with Arctic White trim. James Hardie offers ColorPlus® Board & Batten. We installed Board & Batten in the front of the home and Cedarmill HardiPlank® in the back of the home. Fiber cement siding also helps improve the insulative value of any home because of the quality of the product and how durable it is against Colorado’s harsh climate.
We also installed James Hardie beaded porch panel for the ceiling above the front porch to complete this home exterior make over. We think that this 1970s ranch home looks like a dream now with the full exterior remodel. What do you think?

This is prior to the entire scope of work being completed, however, the siding is complete. The homeowners reached out to us via a mutual contact to see if we would be willing to side their new-construction home. They selected LP Board and Batten siding and aluminum soffit andf fascia.

This mountain home exterior was redesigned with a mix of Woodtone board and batten siding in Old Cherry and James Hardie lap siding in Rich Espresso to create a bold modern rustic look. The combination of wood-inspired textures and dark siding adds warmth and contrast while maintaining durability for mountain conditions.
Custom details like copper penny gutters, a board and batten porch ceiling, and new Andersen windows complete the transformation, creating a striking exterior that blends natural materials with long-lasting performance.

Mastic vinyl siding and a Therma-Tru entry door gave this Fall River, MA ranch a fresh, new look!
The homeowner chose to install a combination of Mastic Board & Batten in the color, Lakeshore Fern, and Mastic Carvedwood 44 in the color, Tuscan Olive. Both of these vinyl siding styles are durable, fade resistant, and feature realistic wood texture and shadow lines. Mastic vinyl siding, with their exclusive Hang-Tough technology, resists cracking and thermal distortion. Homeowners love that the siding color runs through the entire thickness of the panel to hide scratches and nicks. Many of our customers choose to mix and match vinyl siding color and style combinations for unique curb appeal. Both styles of vinyl siding are ready for the tough New England weather – the Board and Batten series comes with a wind rating up to 198 mph, the Carvedwood 44 series can resist winds up to 178 mph.
A Therma-Tru Smooth Star 3/4 Lite, One Panel entrydoor can be factory finished or ready-to-paint for homeowners who prefer to do it themselves. More durable and aesthetically pleasing than traditional steel doors, the Smooth Star series offers a lovely collection of glass and grid patterns.
