Connor Remodeling and Design Menomonee Falls, WI Kitchen $20,000-$40,000 Open views, more storage, and creating space for an island were the primary objectives of this remodel. Removing soffits and taking cabinets to the ceiling maximized storage. A broom closet was eliminated and a wall was pushed back to create more room for an island. Upgrades that added to the overall room appearance included custom maple painted cabinetry with a dark stained alder island as a contrast, plus the addition of stainless steal appliances.

Dania Bagia Photography In 2014, when new owners purchased one of the grand, 19th-century "summer cottages" that grace historic North Broadway in Saratoga Springs, Old Saratoga Restorations was already intimately acquainted with it. Year after year, the previous owner had hired OSR to work on one carefully planned restoration project after another. What had not been dealt with in the previous restoration projects was the Eliza Doolittle of a garage tucked behind the stately home. Under its dingy aluminum siding and electric bay door was a proper Victorian carriage house. The new family saw both the charm and potential of the building and asked OSR to turn the building into a single family home. The project was granted an Adaptive Reuse Award in 2015 by the Saratoga Springs Historic Preservation Foundation for the project. Upon accepting the award, the owner said, “the house is similar to a geode, historic on the outside, but shiny and new on the inside.”

Removing that odd roof plane allow us to use the split shed and clerestory to create a taller entryway and expand the upper floor of this tri-level to create bigger bedrooms and a bonus study space along with a laundry room upstairs. The design goal was to make this look like it is all part of the original design, just cleaner and more modern. Moving to a concrete step entryway was a huge improvement from the previous spaced trex decking

This beautiful Craftsman style kitchen feature Brighton Inset Cherry raise panel door style. With bookend pantries it just makes for a spacious cooking area. Also a larger island it is perfect workspace for a second cook, as well as a eating area for the the family. Soapstone tops in the cooking area and granite on the island with stone back splash just makes this a show kitchen for any home.

Inspiration for a cottage living room remodel in Boston

Acoustic paneling positioned asymmetrically along, above and below large, floating, custom walnut cabinets lends both visual interest and sound dampening to a casual dining area. A sleek, walnut storage cabinet becomes an attractive catchall featuring multiple enclosed outlets, and sporting a long groove, running its length, to accept and conceal cords and charging cables.

My minimalist thinking client wanted nothing but a faucet on the sink back. The sink has a disposer, code requires an air gap, so where is everything? The building inspector approved the backflow preventer that is integrated into the Miele dishwasher as an acceptable alternative to an air gap. The switch for the disposer is an air switch that rides in the front of the top drawer under the sink. The top drawer was largely cut away to fit around the sink, but is has room for the switch and some sink accessories. It still has soft-close, full extension drawer guides.
