Patio kitchen - rustic backyard stone patio kitchen idea in Austin with a roof extension

The Indio Residence, located on an ocean side bluff in Shell Beach, is a clean, contemporary home. Taking cues from the Florin Residence, an earlier project completed for the same client, the Indio Residence is much larger with additional amenities to meet the client’s needs.
At the front door, guests are greeted by floor to ceiling glass with views straight out to the ocean. Tall, grand ceilings throughout the entry and great room are highlighted by skylights, allowing for a naturally lit interior. The open concept floor plan helps highlight the custom details such as the glass encased wine room and floor to ceiling ocean-facing glass. In order to maintain a sense of privacy, the master suite and guests rooms are located on opposite wings of the home. Ideal for entertaining, this layout allows for maximum privacy and shared space alike. Additionally, a privately accessed caretakers apartment is located above the garage, complete with a living room, kitchenette, and ocean facing deck.

Stepping out onto the covered patio space, attention is immediately drawn to the tranquil water feature. Faced with Georgetown Blend stone and Bullnose Travertine coping, this water fall feature creates an elegant feel to this outdoor patio. Even in the midst of night, it glows with LED lights and sparkles from the decorative glass backsplash. This lovely water feature requires low maintenance, as it is fitted with a chlorinator and Jandy pump for proper filtration.
The Venetian Gold granite blends well with the earthy tones found in the original brick, allowing this outdoor kitchen to stand out yet complement the home’s exterior. The bar top area easily seats 4 to 5 guests and attracts the use of Margarita mixers with accessible countertop electrical outlets. For added convenience, the kitchen sink is equipped with both hot and cold water as well as a sanitary pump. There is ample amount of storage space alongside the stainless steel appliances and an inconspicuous garbage can drawer. The mini refrigerator accommodates 48-60 canned drinks, and the double burner and grill provide the perfect opportunity to prepare an outstanding meal for guests and family.
The fire feature in this outdoor project attracts those recently refreshed at the kitchen to come sit and relax! With matching brick as the home, the fire place is a seamless addition to this outdoor living room.
Completing the project, varying sizes of Travertine tile are used for the flooring. The variation in size and uniquely chiseled edge of the tile catches the eye of its travelers.

Our client found Design Connection, Inc. through reading featured articles in local magazines for many years. Her home was 25 years old and never been updated. Their furniture and accessories were well past their prime. The brick fireplace, the focal point of the room, looked dark and dingy. Upon completion of our first interview with the client I realized her style was transitional and the facade of the fireplace would not work with her new furnishings as well as the golden oak paneling.
We brought in our very talented faux painter to access the paneling about changing the color to a soft neutral glow and we completed the transformation in one a very short time.

Located in the Lafayette Square Historic District, this garage is built to strict historical guidelines and to match the existing historical residence built by Horace Bigsby a renowned steamboat captain and Mark twain's prodigy. It is no ordinary garage complete with rooftop oasis, spiral staircase, Low voltage lighting and Sonos wireless home sound system.

Built by L. Cramer and Architect Kathy Alexander, Brandi was excited to design this charming new build on Lake Minnetonka. Situated on a narrow lot with unparalleled lake access, this project was all about maximizing every last inch of square footage! There are no formal spaces in this home; every finish was carefully considered and needed to be functional, durable, and family-friendly. The interior reflects the relaxed, calm pace of lake life. Soft lighting, warm tones, and bright natural colors all add to the sense of peace and understated elegance. The heart of the main floor is the cozy, connected great room. Design highlights include the glass and cable rail wine storage, reclaimed wood beams, large windows, a centerpiece kitchen island and range hood, and a hidden prep kitchen for hosting with ease. Brandi enjoyed helping this lovely family make the most of their beautiful home and its gorgeous setting!
