Clients who enlisted my services two years ago found a new home they loved, but wanted to make sure that the newly acquired furniture would fit the space. They called on K Two Designs to work in the existing furniture as well as add new pieces. The whole house was given a fresh coat of white paint, and draperies and rugs were added to warm and soften the spaces. The third floor became the media room where the family can relax in a completely private area.

we had some extra bats and I had just acquired this crusty old victorian frame on a pick, so I decided it was perfect to use as halloween decor and created a small batty vignette out of it.

With wide plank tops and trestle style bases, Brussels is our reinterpretation of antique Belgian farmhouse tables. Brussels dining tables complement our expansive selection of all-weather wicker dining chairs. Each piece is crafted from reclaimed teak that exhibits natural imperfections– such as knots and coarse ridges –to ensure that no two pieces are exactly alike. Tables are finished with a gray wash for a weathered appearance and stain resistance. If left uncovered, the gray finish will gradually fade away. Once the finish fades, exposing unfinished teak to the elements, the furniture will begin to acquire the beautiful gray patina that is typical of untreated teak. The 73” rectangular dining table comfortably seats six and the 96” table seats eight. Ships knocked-down with easy assembly. Does not accept umbrella.

This remodeling project acquired a new face and interpretation of the spaces by liberating the floor plan. Walls were removed to allow natural light to come into the space. This old split level home was transformed from the inside to the outside.

Founders of a high-tech, program trading firm required a space designed to attract and retain highly talented tech professionals. The design needed to reflect a company culture that is defined through leveraging technology and a work hard, play hard mentality. Confident in their ability to accomplish more with less, the firm acquires a West Loop residential loft-conversion to meet their needs. They required shared executive offices, a cross functional living/meeting space, an entertainment space and a guest bathroom.

This beautiful table is made from a maple tree that was cut down many years ago from baseball legend, Ted Williams, baseball camp called “Splendid Splinters” in Lakeville, MA. We acquired this wood several years ago and had just enough left to build this 66” round table that opens to accept 5 center leaves.

A modern transformation was in store for this abused split-level Rockville, MD home. A previous "renovation" created some non-functional spaces and odd transitions. At the center of the design was an antique chandelier that the homeowners acquired from an estate sale early in their marriage, so that challenge was integrating old and new into the shared space.
So many walls came down and one wall went up. This family now has not only an open and functional space, but it is dripping with luxury details like the custom cabinets in a glorious emerald green color from Benjamin Moore called "Gondola Ride", gold tone hardware and wall sconces, and a stunning Borghini Gold quartz counter from Emerstone that carries up to the backsplash.
Outlets hidden under the cabinets provide plenty of power for small appliances. The cabinetry is loaded with smart features like a trash and recycling center, deep pot storage, gigantic storage pantries flanking the refrigerator and a generous island that provides seating for 4 and hidden storage. Valence boxes create a home for the 3 gold scones that tie the kitchen and the dining buffer together. Dimmable led surface lights throughout provide ample illumination without detracting from the statement lighting in the room. The newly refinished hardwood floors complete the look.

This original 1970's master bedroom suite was transformed into a very exciting and unique southwestern design. In the Master bath we chose a double slipper copper tub, saguaro cactus for the vanity bases with custom copper sinks, and a parota wood slab for the counter and back splash acquired in Mexico by Casa Mexicana Imports. Artobrick wall tiles were designed with hand picked colors and patterns. The barn door for closing the space between bedroom and bath was antique Mexican paneled door we upholstered bathroom view side with a Sunbrella fabric Pendleton design and framed it in leather. The Adobe fireplace and custom shelf unit in the master bedroom were added,
Custom paint for the walls in the bath and the Master bedroom ceilings. Hickory wood flooring was used for the bedroom, which tied in well with the natural saguaro cactus wood tones.

The owner of this newly built Kingsway Tudor home had acquired the empty lot behind, offering the opportunity to create a series of outdoor rooms that stretch beyond what would be imaginable.
The first third of this garden offers a structured over-sized deck and lower stone terrace for entertaining, which steps down to a long lawn allee anchored on both sides with deep gardens reaching almost 20 ft. At the back of the garden, we have a reclaimed barn timber pergola set on concrete pillars with wisteria draping the secluded sitting area offering a true oasis in the heart of the city.
