We added a large sectional, extra island space and a spacious outdoor setup to complete this goal. Our tile selections added special details to the bathrooms, mudroom and laundry room. The lighting lit up the gorgeous wallpaper and paint selections. To top it off the accessories were the perfect way to accentuate the style and excitement within this home! This project is truly one of our favorites. Hopefully we can enjoy cocktails in the pool soon!

It can be difficult to get excited about doing the dishes, but it helps when you have an enjoyable space to do them in. The bright, existing inswing casement windows and puck lighting add plenty of light. The deep farmhouse sink makes scrubbing big pots and cookie sheets easy. And there’s counter space for dirty dishes on one side and clean ones on the other. Just above the sink is a row of cabinets perfect for hiding the good snacks to reward yourself after a job well done.

The Brief Create a WOW factor space, add glamour and fun and give the house a street side and garden side, both different. Our Solution This project was exciting from the start, the client wanted to entertain in a WOW factor space, have a panoramic view of the garden (which was to be landscaped), add bedrooms and a great master suite. We had some key elements to introduce such as an aquarium separating two rooms; double height spaces and a gloss kitchen, all of which manifest themselves in the completed scheme. Architecture is a process taking a schedule of areas, some key desires and needs, mixing the functionality and creating space. New spaces transform a house making it more valuable, giving it kerb appeal and making it feel like a different building. All of which happened at Ailsa Road.

Thin brick veneer was used to clad the ceiling of this project. This jaw-dropping brick design expanded the room, while adding a unique design element that excites and draws guest’s attention to brick detail from floor to ceiling. This project is recommended for homeowners that have high ceilings or wish for some added texture to warm up their space. Decorated with elaborate chandlers, thin brick veneer ceilings are the perfect combination of rustic luxury.

With a lengthy list of ideas about how to transform their backyard, the clients were excited to see what we could do. Existing features on site needed to be updated and in-cooperated within the design. The view from each angle of the property was already outstanding and we didn't want the design to feel out of place. We had to make the grade changes work to our advantage, each separate space had to have a purpose. The client wanted to use the property for charity events, so a large flat turf area was constructed at the back of the property, perfect for setting up tables, chairs and a stage if needed. It also created the perfect look out point into the back of the property, dropping off into a ravine. A lot of focus throughout the project was the plant selection. With a large amount of garden beds, we wanted to maintain a clean and formal look, while still offering seasonal interest. We did this by edging the beds with boxwoods, adding white hydrangeas throughout the beds for constant colour, and subtle pops of purple and yellow. This spacious kitchen in North Nanaimo got a huge upgrade. It features pure white cabinet doors with a gauntlet grey island. The black appliances and hardware are perfectly married into the design with the white tiled backsplash and grey-veined quartz. The open area offers tons of lighting and the kitchen stays open, airy, and beautiful. The red bar stools add a pop of colour that is exciting and inviting.

The cabinets were a mixture of a custom white blend and a custom blue opaque. Troico hand made the shaker doors in maple to really show the grain through the blue opaque. The cabinets have a nice flat crown moulding to finish them off and add extra detail. It was especially fun working on crafting upper cabinets with glass doors and glass backs so that the window behind the cabinets was not obstructed. This is a truly custom feature in the home.
