This 7,500 square feet home, situated on a waterfront site in Sag Harbor, New York, was designed as a shared vacation home for four brothers and their families. A collaborative effort between the clients and Cecil Baker + Partners yielded a contemporary home that pays homage to the Eastern Long Island vernacular. The home is composed of three distinct volumes that step back from one another to optimize both the water view and privacy. The two outer wings take on familiar cedar-clad, pitched roof geometry while the central three-story glass box links them together and anchors the home. The two car garage, with a private living space above, projects from the main house via a breezeway, defining a private garden. The interior of the home integrates warm, tactile materials and clean modern lines. The use of full-height windows, floor-to-ceiling glass curtain wall, and an operable overhead glass door creates an indoor-outdoor living experience and floods the home with natural light. The subtle choreography of the interior space lends flexibility to the Client for both social and private uses of the home. The first floor contains an open plan for the kitchen, living room, dining area and sunroom, and the second floor includes two full master suites facing the bay, a guest room with spectacular water views, and a children's room that overlooks the garden. The fully finished basement holds a large playroom, a gym, a full spa bath and a wine cellar. In addition, views in all directions are unobstructed from a third floor roof terrace. Inspiration for a modern white two-story metal exterior home remodel in Austin with a gambrel roof

The home, built in the mid ’90s, needed an update. However, the family wanted to keep the renovations neutral enough to accommodate future changes and transformations. They had several project goals, including: * Eliminate the family’s dining room table * Add additional storage * Create the new kitchen design within the footprint of their existing floor plan * Make the refrigerator more easily accessible To accomplish this, we removed the clunky dining room table and integrated seating into the home’s kitchen island. To remedy their storage woes we installed three large pantry cabinets. We also relocated the fridge for easier access. To add some style to the space, the family upgraded their cabinets to Showplace cabinets featuring the freeport door style in lyptus wood with a truffle finish. They replaced their existing countertops with Cambria Canterbury and installed a complementary Elkay granite sink.

For this kitchen remodeling project, the homeowner was looking to give their kitchen a much-needed facelift, while making the space more functional. We started by taking down a wall that linked the living room to the kitchen and gave them the additional space they were looking for. We then removed all the existing cabinets while also moving the stove and refrigerator to a new location. We then installed all new cabinets in the Brooklyn door done in Birch. They went with white for the kitchen cabinets while the front of the peninsula and dry bar was done in slate. Next, we installed a Calacatta Valentin quartz countertop and a night sky 2x6 subway tile backsplash and a luxury vinyl tile floor. Now this homeowner has a kitchen they are proud to share with their family and friends.

Craig & Chad are both professionals in the realm of design – fashion & detail. Our collaboration proved to be a fun challenge that resulted in a kitchen renovation with two bathrooms. Their main bathroom featured above makes great use of space with the addition of built in cabinetry, a wall niche, and storage beneath the sink. It also features a unique tile floor pattern from Centura with wood accents and herringbone patterns, which corresponds nicely with the black accents. In collaboration with the client’s architect, AR Design the layout of the kitchen was already in place. However, upon meeting the client it was clear she wanted a ‘wow’ island, symmetry in design and plenty of functional storage. As well as a contemporary, family-friendly space it was also important the space that still respected the heritage of the house. The original walls of the property had many angled walls and featured some tight spaces, so careful consideration of SieMatic's cabinetry choices was given to ensure maximum functionality in those spaces. After much consideration, The Myers Touch specified SieMatic’s SC10 Cabinetry in a Provence Oak Laminate finish which was placed in a framed-style at the rear wall. The same cabinetry was specified for under the island to create contrast with the new and original material features in the space. In order for the family to keep the kitchen uncluttered, careful planning of internal storage systems was considered in the form of using SieMatic’s internal Drawer boxes and their MultiMatic internal storage system which were used to store smaller items such as spices and sauces, as well whilst providing space for slide-out drawers and storage baskets. To ensure an elegant yet ‘wow’ factor central island, The Myers Touch combined contrasting textures by using 30mm Silestone Eternal Calacatta natural stone, polished worktops with ‘waterfall island’ edges and a Corian solid surface back panel. The distinctive geometric patterned Corian panel in Cameo White looks particularly spectacular at night when the owner's turn on the architectural-toned lighting under the island. Appliances chosen for the island included a sophisticated Elica Illusion extractor hood so it could be totally integrated in the new architectural space without visual distraction, a Siemens iQ500 Induction Hob with touch-slide control and a Caple Under-counter Wine cabinet. To maximise every inch of the new space, and to ensure the owners had a place for everything, The Myers Touch also used additional cabinetry and storage options in the island such as extra deep drawers to store saucepans, cutlery, and everyday crockery. The eye-catching Antique-bronze mirrored splashback not only helps to provide the illusion of extra space, but reinforces family ‘togetherness’ as it reflects and links the rear of the kitchen ‘snug’ area where family members can sit and relax or work when not in the main kitchen extension area. The original toned brickwork and 18th Century steel windows in the original part of the extension also helps to tell the story about the older part of the house which now juxtaposes to the new, contemporary kitchen living extension. A handy door was also included in the extension which leads to the garage on the main road for family convenience and over-flow storage. This home addition brings new space for the kitchen and family room allowing for a large island with seating and new living area for the whole family to enjoy. The kitchen was completed using IKEA SEKTION cabinets and custom shaker wide fronts in a white Smart Matte finish by Dendra Doors. Pental Santenay countertop, Richard Sterling Crayon Bianco tile, and Armstrong vinyl plank flooring. This transformation brought new life to a home that the client almost left not seeing the vision that we made a reality.

RWH Architect presents the Whistle Hill Lot 8 Residence, a statement home that reflects a bold shift toward modern, refined design. This contemporary residence is defined by its clean lines, dramatic vertical expressions, and a sophisticated mix of architectural forms that culminate in a truly forward-thinking home. From the moment visitors step into the central courtyard that connects the detached garage to the main house, the project introduces a new level of architectural intention rarely seen in the region. The detached garage, featuring an expansive 18' x 8' door, creates a strong street presence and anchors the courtyard entry sequence. Passing through the courtyard leads to a welcoming entry foyer designed with built-in hooks and a bench, creating a comfortable—and functional—moment of arrival. Just beyond the entry is a private study with custom built-in bookshelves, a space tailored for work, reading, or quiet focus. The main floor unfolds into a sophisticated open-concept layout where the kitchen, great room, and dining areas flow effortlessly together. The kitchen includes a walk-in pantry, a pot filler for convenience, and a dedicated dog-feeding station that integrates seamlessly into the cabinetry. The great room stands as the heart of the home, featuring a built-in wood-burning fireplace and oversized sliding doors that extend the living space out to a covered patio. Integrating the built-in fireplace, open-concept layout, and large patio openings required complex structural solutions; RWH overcame this by using discreetly integrated structural steel that allowed for wide spans without compromising the home’s clean, minimalist interior aesthetic. Designing the master bathroom’s combined shower-and-tub layout also presented a unique challenge, requiring careful grading, waterproofing, and spatial planning. Through strategic detailing and 3D modeling, RWH delivered a seamless spa-like experience that feels both inventive and intuitively functional.
