RenovisionsThese Hanover, MA clients came to Renovisions as they wanted a local design-build company to rework and expand their small and outdated 1980’s colonial kitchen.
We collaborated and created an expanded 12’x15’ addition space to accommodate a newly designed kitchen which is now 21’x15’. Before we began with the construction process, proper structural engineering presented a challenge as the property was built on ledge. As expected, we determined that several concrete supports were necessary and needed to be built to support the expanded structure.
Our plan included both creative aesthetic and functional layout modifications to transform this ordinary kitchen into a spacious, well-lit, highly functional, stylish and welcoming space to cook, gather and entertain. The bump-out allowed for more functional cabinetry and a dining table which before was placed in a corner of the previous cramped kitchen. Now, there is a wide open space from the adjacent living room and a clear path to a 5’ French door opening to the pool deck. The homeowners also elected for us to extend a new roof over their existing deck creating a nice shaded space to entertain guests.
The island, which serves as the central gathering spot. is eye catching with contrasting dark cocoa colored cabinets and stunning natural looking Cambria quartz countertops. Large, easily accessible deep drawers provide much needed storage for pots, pans and lids as well as expansive countertop space for everyday prep and family get-togethers.
Overall, the clients were thrilled with their Renovision and cannot wait to throw a party to show off their stunning kitchen.

We relax under the covered porch in the morning for coffee, the afternoon for lunch and to watch the grandkids in the pool. And of course in the evening while we read or catch up on emails. Magy Interiors LLCOur team worked with our client to recreate her former office into a post-retirement office/den oasis. She wanted a space where she could relax, use her computer, store additional items, and use as an additional guest room for visitors. We chose to completely remove the built-ins that took up the entire room and the crown molding to create a more modern look.
Then, we painted the walls, striped the floors and added a wood-mimicking vinyl, and brought in a beautiful area rug to tie it all together .
Our team also gutted the closet and its doors. We were able to take the new doors all the way to the top for additional storage, and create section within the closet so only the part that needs to be used is open. We created a section for storage, for our client's uniforms, and office equipment such as a printer, scanner and various documents.
Dan Davis DesignWhen retired clients decided to combine their individual homes into a newly purchased one, they turned to us to help them combine their styles. Their love of mid-century Modern and their love of traveling the world were a perfect jumping off point. He traveled Asia and she traveled Europe. The 1920s home they purchased had an open floor plan, except the kitchen which we renovated into a kitchen/sunroom addition. the space tripled in size and added a lot of natural light into the home. Custom cabinets, a cork floor and copper pendants add warmth, and the blue glass backsplash brings a nice compliment of cool color. The beams coordinate with the kitchen cabinet finish.

First Option Design Build LLCpaul zimmerman photo... note how I was able to incorporate the glass tile matrix into the window frame and even the glass block wall. Introducing the "brick pattern" into the glass block reflects the pattern that we used on the walls and floor. In addition, gluing the glass block together with JUST clear silicone gives us such a nice look compared to the bulk of mortar. Well worth the effort!

DK StudioOur team of Austin architects transformed a 1950s home into a mid-century modern retreat for this renovation and addition project. The retired couple who owns the house came to us seeking a design that would bring in natural light and accommodate their many hobbies while offering a modern and streamlined design. The original structure featured an awkward floor plan of choppy spaces divided by various step-downs and a central living area that felt dark and closed off from the outside. Our main goal was to bring in natural light and take advantage of the property’s fantastic backyard views of a peaceful creek. We raised interior floors to the same level, eliminating sunken rooms and step-downs to allow for a more open, free-flowing floor plan. To increase natural light, we changed the traditional hip roofline to a more modern single slope with clerestory windows that take advantage of treetop views. Additionally, we added all new windows strategically positioned to frame views of the backyard. A new open-concept kitchen and living area occupy the central home where previously underutilized rooms once sat. The kitchen features an oversized island, quartzite counters, and upper glass cabinets that mirror the clerestory windows of the room. Large sliding doors spill out to a new covered and raised deck that overlooks Shoal Creek and new backyard amenities, like a bocce ball court and paved walkways. Finally, we finished the home's exterior with durable and low-maintenance cement plank siding and a metal roof in a palette of neutral grays and whites. A bright red door creates a warm welcome to this newly renovated Austin home.

Irons Brothers Construction IncOur homeowners, a retired occupational therapist and her husband a UW horticulturalist, were planning to age in place (AIP) and engaged our design + build team to help them create the master suite they’d envisioned. This project was done with a team of Certified Aging in Place Specialists (CAPS) and Certified Living in Place Professionals (CLIPP). Many universal standards were implemented into the project with the help of this highly educated team, including the lead carpenter/project manager, project developer, and designer.
