Bedroom in Bronco | Key Feature: A Scottsdale new-build rooted in sculptural modernism, Bronco Revival balances bold black-and-white contrast with organic textures, natural wood elements, and statement lighting. As a groundbreaking “Live Lab” designer residence, it’s a first-of-its-kind space where luxury furnishings are tested in real-world conditions before being introduced into high-profile client homes. Challenge: Because Bronco Revival was the designer’s personal residence, the project carried a unique level of pressure and intention. The challenge was creating a Scottsdale new-build that felt elevated and editorial while still functioning as a true family home. Every selection had to balance bold sculptural modernism (high contrast, statement lighting, architectural furnishings) with durability, comfort, and day-to-day livability. In addition, the home served as a “Live Lab,” meaning new vendors, materials, and luxury furnishings needed to be tested in real-life conditions before being trusted for future high-profile client projects. Solution: We approached the project with a highly curated, test-and-refine design strategy, treating each space as both a finished interior and a real-world evaluation environment. Key furnishings, textiles, and materials were selected to support the modern organic vision while also standing up to the demands of everyday family life. This open-concept kitchen was designed to be the heart of the home, blending everyday functionality with elevated, custom details. To better accommodate a busy family of six, we reimagined the builder's original layout by adding a second island and extending the custom cabinetry, creating additional storage, prep space, and a more efficient workflow. The dual waterfall quartz islands anchor the space while providing generous seating and multiple gathering areas. Rich charcoal custom cabinetry contrasts beautifully with light white oak flooring, while warm brass accents add understated sophistication throughout. Layered lighting, including sculptural pendant fixtures, brings warmth and visual interest, complementing the soft neutral palette and natural materials. Breakfast room A thoughtfully blended mix of furniture styles introduces a splash of European charm to this Hamptons-style kitchen, with French, cane-back chairs providing a sense of airy elegance and delight. A performance velvet adorns the banquette, which is piled high with lush cushions for optimal comfort while lounging in the room. Another layer of texture is achieved with a wool area rug that defines and accentuates this gorgeous breakfast nook with sprawling views of the outdoors. Inspiration for a transitional kitchen remodel in Philadelphia

This remodeled bathroom exists within a silo attached to the client's home. We kept the footprint as is and updated the cabinet layout, employed a small farmhouse sink, gooseneck plumbing fixture and sconce, minimized the mirror, local crackle subway tiles, water efficient comfort height toilet, introduced a handheld shower held, better and more efficient lighting plan, removed carpet all while giving the look of washed wood with tiled planks.

The homeowners were looking to rejuvenate the front of their 1920s colonial revival home. The new design introduced a wrap-around porch which added much needed curb appeal. An enlarged entry door painted a deep red gave the front entrance the attention it deserved, and the addition of sidelights helped bring more light into the foyer. To give the house a modern classic look, the exterior shutters were removed and a neutral gray and white paint scheme was chosen. A small mudroom was added to the side of the house to provide an informal entrance from the driveway.

As part of an addition and remodel, we were faced with the task of introducing a shiny new kitchen into an older ranch home. We always consider the architecture of the home in our designs, and love to create new spaces, while holding true to the integrity of the original home. To accomplish this task in the home, we designed soft white cabinetry to avoid the stark contrast that could come with bright white, and then layered achromatic colors in the counter tops and back splash to create interest, warmth, and depth. We also used polished nickel hardware that serves as the perfect balance of shiny and new, while still maintaining warm tones. The aged iron lanterns and stair railing tie into design elements from the original home, while adding character and interest to this new, bright and open kitchen.

Home office - transitional home office idea in St Louis

This one and one-half story, in-town, simplified Gothic Revival on Martha’s Vineyard has had a handful of alterations over the years. The latest is the addition of a new shed dormer which we designed to join an existing shed dormer, forming an ell. The result increased headroom, daylight, and ventilation, greatly improving a bedroom, while creating space for a new full bath and additional closets. The new dormer is nested in the primary roof and fitted with casement windows to match the existing dormer, as if they were built concurrently. While we were at it, we introduced a new, fresh color palette upstairs and off the first floor main entry hall to highlight the Island locale and to play off the porcelain ceramic and beach glass tile that we chose for the new bath photo by Katie Hutchison

ATIID collaborated with these homeowners to curate new furnishings throughout the home while their down-to-the studs, raise-the-roof renovation, designed by Chambers Design, was underway. Pattern and color were everything to the owners, and classic “Americana” colors with a modern twist appear in the formal dining room, great room with gorgeous new screen porch, and the primary bedroom. Custom bedding that marries not-so-traditional checks and florals invites guests into each sumptuously layered bed. Vintage and contemporary area rugs in wool and jute provide color and warmth, grounding each space. Bold wallpapers were introduced in the powder and guest bathrooms, and custom draperies layered with natural fiber roman shades ala Cindy’s Window Fashions inspire the palettes and draw the eye out to the natural beauty beyond. Luxury abounds in each bathroom with gleaming chrome fixtures and classic finishes. A magnetic shade of blue paint envelops the gourmet kitchen and a buttery yellow creates a happy basement laundry room.
