SLDarch: The rugged Hajar Mountains ring the city while this rocky hillside setting offers great positioning to take in distant city lights set against the shimmering Gulf of Oman.
With careful positioning, we were able to preserving the existing mature trees and nestle this home against the rugged desert mountains. Major views orient towards the north guarding against the relentless summer sun while providing massive vista views and open floor plan. Here we have a delightful interplay of open rooms and multi-levels, connected by gentle steps, ramps, stairs and elevator.
Main living room has full ceiling skylight with deep geometric webs and reflective glass, allowing spangled sunlight throughout the interior spaces but blocking the excessive solar gain. Ample allocation for art display has been integrated throughout this home as well as a 1500 sf dedicated art gallery and two home office spaces as well as a built-in wood shop.
A spiral stair leads to the rooftop aerie for evening star gazing, relaxing and cocktails.

If you're a wine collector, for sure you might have already come across large wine bottles. We made sure to allocate space for them inside this walk-in wine room in LA. The horizontal shelves you see in the photo were manufactured with depressions in the middle to keep the bottles in place.

This is a fabulous space combining boot room and utility, commonly known now as the bootility! This boot room its truly striking, not only does it look stunning with the green cabinetry, oak island and honed black granite worktops, it works as an incredibly practical space with plenty of storage and surfaces, dedicated clothes washing and dog shower area.
It’s one of the most used areas in the house so never under estimate the space you should allocate to a functional room like this.
Stylish statement leather handles bring the cabinetry to life as do the tap choices and accessories used throughout!

Turned a plain contractor grade bathroom with the 4x4 white ceramic tile into a luxurious, relaxing retreat. The space was reconfigured by removing a big drop in tub and replacing it by a modern stand alone one. Made the long water closet shorter and allocated the extra space to transform the shower.

“This was our second project working with Reico. The overall process is overwhelming given the infinite layout options and design combinations so having the experienced team at Reico listen to our vision and put it on paper was invaluable,” said the client. “They considered our budget and thoughtfully allocated the dollars.”
“The team at Reico never balked if we requested a quote in a different product line or a tweak to the layout. The communication was prompt, professional and easy to understand. And of course, the finished product came together beautifully – better than we could have ever imagined! Katherine and Angel at the Annapolis location were our primary contacts and we can’t thank them enough for all of their hard work and care they put into our project.”

FullerHouse Construction Project: Arapahoe Ridge, Boulder CO whole house remodel
Our clients’ modest, 2,100 SF 1960’s Ranch had received only a few minor cosmetic upgrades since its original construction. And given a need for more space and a desire to stay in their neighborhood – the prime Arapahoe Ridge neighborhood of Boulder – our clients knew their home was due for a major renovation.
By the time DAJ Designs of Louisville had completed drawings, it was clear that very little of the original house was going to remain the same.
To create the space and configuration they desired, the first goal was to add a 2nd story, allocated solely for the new Master Suite, with its own private Balcony. But to create additional space needed for the Kitchen and walk-in pantry, we also pushed out into the original Garage footprint, subsequently extending the Garage to create room for 3+ vehicles. We also reworked nearly every other interior partition wall on the main floor to accommodate a spacious Great Room, 2 kids’ bedrooms, an Office, 2 bathrooms, and a dedicated Laundry room.
With clean white Craftsman details for the Exterior and interior trim and doors, natural granite counters, glass tiles, and creamy white Shaker-style cabinetry, our clients’ good taste added a timeless warmth to their now larger (3,000 SF) and more functional home.

THE SETUP
Located in a luxury high rise in Chicago’s Gold Coast Neighborhood, the condo’s existing primary bath was “fine,” but a bit underwhelming. It was a sea of beige, with very little personality or drama. The client is very well traveled, and wanted the space to feel luxe and glamorous, like a bath in a fine European hotel.
Design objectives:
- Add loads of beautiful high end finishes
- Create drama and contrast
- Create luxe showering and bathing experiences
- Improve storage for toiletries and essentials
THE REMODEL
Design challenges:
- Unable to reconfigure layout due to location in the high rise
- Seek out unique, dramatic tile materials
- Introduce “BLING”
- Find glamorous lighting
Design solutions:
- Keep existing layout, with change from built in to free-standing tub
- Gorgeous Calacatta gold marble was our inspiration
- Ornate Art deco marble mosaic to be the focal point, with satin gold accents to create shimmer
- Glass and crystal light fixtures add the needed sparkle
THE RENEWED SPACE
After the remodel began, our client’s vision for her bath took a turn that was inspired by a trip to Paris. Initially, the plan was a modest design to allocate resources for her kitchen’s marble slabs… but then she had a vision while admiring the marble bathroom of her Parisian hotel.
She was determined to infuse her bathroom with the same sense of luxury. They went back to the drawing board and started over with all-marble.
Her new stunning bath space radiates glamour and sophistication. The “bling” flows to her bedroom where we matched the gorgeous custom wall treatment that mimics grasscloth on an accent wall. With its marble landscape, shimmering tile and walls, the primary bath’s ambiance creates a swanky hotel feel that our client adores and considers her sanctuary.

This family friendly home also includes some four-footed members.
An historic home, Circa 1912, had been in the same family for generations, the new owners had a big job to restore and refresh the grand, but run-down property. The kitchen is located in the back of the house, and is un-traditional, in that there are no wall cabinets and space is allocated for antiques and art.

This modern kitchen features sleek, flat-panel white cabinetry paired with a rich, dark countertop, creating a striking contrast. A stylish, vertically stacked light gray subway tile backsplash adds texture and visual interest. Stainless steel appliances and minimalist hardware contribute to the contemporary aesthetic. Under-cabinet lighting illuminates the countertop, highlighting the clean lines and sophisticated design of this culinary space.
