Most traditional older homes are set up with a dark, closed off kitchen, which is what this kitchen used to be. It had potential and we came in to open its doors to the family room to allow for seating, reconfigured the kitchen cabinetry, and also refinished and refaced the cabinetry. Some of the finishes include Taj Mahal Quartzite, White Dove finish on cabinetry, shaker style doors and doors with a bead, subway backsplash, and shiplap fireplace.

Having inherited this home from a narrow-minded house flipper, the client really wanted to make these spaces work for them. From the beginning, it was clear to us that this house had great potential. Our solution to realizing it was to build a side entry allowing each existing space to be used for its originally designed purpose. The vestibule stores shoes, backpacks, and coats while the kitchen is used solely for cooking and entertaining. The family room is now a place to spend time, read books, and watch TV. These collective changes resulted in a new light-filled home that inspires creativity and provides added space to entertain guests.

Airy and bright LEICHT kitchen using our textured Timber in raw Oak as a warm accent, and Avance FS, matte in frosty white. This kitchen brings out the natural lighting, allowing the space to feel larger. The interior fitments utilize the space to it’s potential, providing a functional and visual appealing design. It incorporates modern elements such as handle-less cabinets and a custom panel for the fridge; that in turn, creates a seamless design.

The Rosenberg Condo is located in the Castalia at Meadowmont, a mixed-use building. The existing shell is comprised of pre-determined windows and demising walls, limiting the possibility of natural light in each potential room. Sited on one of the highest elevations in the Triangle, the views to the horizon from the public spaces became paramount. This modern, master plan strategy is grounded by a multifunctional thickened wall. The wall is a filter, container, and threshold as it marks the separation between public and private spaces while reacting to specific conditions of interior environment and natural light. Carving and folding, the wall utilizes depth and translucency to allow filtered light through the thresholds between public and private.

The decision to either renovate the upper and lower units of a duplex or convert them into a single-family home was a no-brainer. Situated on a quiet street in Montreal, the home was the childhood residence of the homeowner, where many memories were made and relationships formed within the neighbourhood. The prospect of living elsewhere wasn’t an option. A complete overhaul included the re-configuration of three levels to accommodate the dynamic lifestyle of the empty nesters. The potential to create a luminous volume was evident from the onset. With the home backing onto a park, westerly views were exploited by oversized windows and doors. A massive window in the stairwell allows morning sunlight to filter in and create stunning reflections in the open concept living area below. The staircase is an architectural statement combining two styles of steps, with the extended width of the lower staircase creating a destination to read, while making use of an otherwise awkward space. White oak dominates the entire home to create a cohesive and natural context. Clean lines, minimal furnishings and white walls allow the small space to breathe.

As the principal designer of At the Rouge, Alexander Temporale’s goal was to maximize the potential of the site. All the major living spaces were provided with panoramic views of nature with large panels of glass. The interior/exterior connection is further enhanced by the tall ceilings creating an airy spaciousness that allows the outdoor views to fill the rooms. Each house at the Rouge is shaped and molded with its own location and natural setting in mind. Although each design is unique, ATA created an overall design language ensuring this special enclave has a sense of place. BDI home theater furniture is all about great design, which has the potential to make our surroundings better. In BDI, you'll find a collection of furniture pieces that are unique, functional and great looking. The BDI CORRIDOR 8179 cabinet features louvered doors of solid walnut or white oak that allow a speaker’s sound or a remote control’s signal to pass through unobstructed. The two center doors open to reveal a large compartment with an adjustable shelf, allowing CORRIDOR to accommodate a wide range of speakers or components. The cabinet features a black, micro-etched glass top and black steel legs. Optional concealed wheels are included.

To facilitate the builder's desire to create a successful model home in this large site development with expansive natural preserves, this design creates a sense of presence far greater than its actual size. This was accomplished by a wide yet shallow layout that allows most rooms to look out to rear of home and preserve views beyond. Designed with a West Indies flavor, this thoroughly modern home's layout flows seamlessly from space to space. A riverfront property is a desirable piece of property duet to its proximity to a waterway and parklike setting. The value in this renovation to the customer was creating a home that allowed for maximum appreciation of the outside environment and integrating the outside with the inside, and this design achieved this goal completely. To eliminate the fishbowl effect and sight-lines from the street the kitchen was strategically designed with a higher counter top space, wall areas were added and sinks and appliances were intentional placement. Open shelving in the kitchen and wine display area in the dining room was incorporated to display customer's pottery. Seating on two sides of the island maximize river views and conversation potential. Overall kitchen/dining/great room layout designed for parties, etc. - lots of gathering spots for people to hang out without cluttering the work triangle. Eliminating walls in the ensuite provided a larger footprint for the area allowing for the freestanding tub and larger walk-in closet. Hardwoods, wood cabinets and the light grey colour pallet were carried through the entire home to integrate the space.

The long expanse of countertop within the pantry allows plenty of room "behind" the kitchen and out of the way for food prep of items for large parties, as this family loves to entertain. Notice the whimsical hardware on the cabinet doors.
